Vanity Fair March 2008 : The Hollywood Issue by Annie Leibovitz

I like Elizabeth Banks...she does fit the mold but is doing surprisingly well...she was great in a movie called Heights.

Zoe Saldana should have been on the cover to add a little variety.

The pastel colour scheme is a new twist on the time-honoured Hollywood portfolio, but part of me wonders if the candy-floss colours undermine how seriously we perceive the actresses in that shot; I certainly know that my first reaction was 'what a bunch of lightweights' which was entirely irrational, but they look like they're dressed up like ice-creams.

In short, it's a nice cover, but for me, it lacks the usual gravitas of the Hollywood issue.

Abbie Cornish would have been great to see. Michelle Williams also. They are going places.

I don't think Abbie is going anywhere except to a place called Obscurity on a one way ticket. Emily Blunt is also wearing a bathing suit.

Well yay for Zoe, America and Ellen, I love them. But WTF with Alice Braga? She was awful in I Am Legend, excuse moi. Ginnifer Goodwin? Elizabeth Banks? Seriously.
I agree with scriptgirl Saoirse Ronan, Kristen Stewart (hello Twilight?) and Marion Cotillard (SERIOUSLY) should have been there.

Yeah Marion...she would've fit the theme well.

i guess it would be a repeat....
but this looks like a Vogue US Anniversary shoot....
with typical 50s american WASP....

the colours are really really "wow so old!" beautiful colours, don't get me wrong.... but there they look used, washed, boring....

Slightly bigger version
