LOL Good one 😆 The 2000 from the Fashion world is 100 times better than what we're being presented today. To even think that Versace 2026 could hold a candle to the first decade of the 2000 from Versace is crazy.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're focused more on nostalgia than reality.

^ the only thing I’d like carried over is embodiment. We do need to move on but seeing these shows with these really meek/vacant models and over zealous styling and music is a disservice. That era had an honesty that today now lacks.

But do I want the collections of then to come back? God no. Well, maybe some elements to create a through line (like decent evening on the runway for Versace, because that’s also a huge clientele basis for them). But besides that let’s shift with confidence. This feels fan service to a client they’re trying to attract but it’s too much too quickly. Because now I wonder with a collection like this, what’s the progression? You can’t really go anywhere further with this. And if there IS an Atelier collection, what on earth is that going to look like because the audience for this certainly isn’t an Atelier Versace client. It’s at a loss. And if they bring someone new in AGAIN after Dario, the it’s starting from scratch all over again.

Those baggy-crotch jeans are a relic of a bygone era. Back in the 1980s, designers still hadn’t figured out how to properly cut denim. Remember Gallianos 90s HC with denim was cutting edge high fashion… We’ve come a long way since then - and I can’t remember the when I had to wear a pair that fit like that.

Okay, after letting it digest for a bit, I am sold on this collection and I am not even 100% sure WHY. I want Dario to stay because something interesting is happening here. I *feel* it. I see pieces I can wear that are fun and the right amount of fashion. I want to buy some things.

I'm happy I've lived through way better times for fashion, nowadays you can almost throw everything away anyhow. These new designers don't respect the codes of the houses, they're just after theatrics and things for social media but in terms of collections then it's awful. You can't call yourself a fashion connoisseur and say ''this Versace collection for SS26 is perfectly aligned with the house' vision / codes / past and so on.'' It's CHEAP, it's the Temu version of what once was.

John barely respected the code of the house either and was quite after theatrics. Except it was GOOD!

At this point, it’s pretty much universally accepted that Dario Vitale’s first collection for Versace was awesome. The question, however, was whether it was also sellable. The good news for the Prada Group, which is set to acquire Versace from Capri by the middle of this month, is that demand for this collection has far exceeded expectations, especially in the U.S. I’ve heard from people on the ground that there will be new wholesale partners stateside, and that demand from V.I.C.s has essentially doubled over last season. In the meantime, executives are mulling over the pricing strategy, which will be key when the product becomes available next year.

Don't believe everything you read...fashion people hated the collection but bc is Versace they prefer to say it otherwise to avoid ruining business,get invites,etc...same old same old...

Except for the vile Versace Jeans Couture stuff, the RTW is actually fantastic. It looks quite easy and eye-catching.

The accessories are a mess though.
Prada is about bags and shoes and if those parts aren’t up to part, he is in danger.
It’s quite ugly.

Me too.Who do you think will be a great designer for versace?
also very important for versace to survive , they need a true designer with experience, donatella was very good at her job and had a great eye for great tailoring and versace always had amazing cutting techniques and pattern work.
Anthony Vaccarello will fit perfectly also he worked for Donatella before. But they would have to pay him big money. It would be a great story and all italian.

I just do see it. Its to junior , trying to hard. Also it does not look expensive at all. At versace jeans this could have worked. But not for the main line. This on anyone over 25 would look ridiculous.
