i think she fits the profile perfectly. depends on what mode they put her in like someone said she is a fashion chameleon. she could turn from a gappy brit wannabe to an italian like sex vixen!

I'm not a huge Madonna lover, but when I was at her concert and was able to stand right in front of the stage, I must say that she's such a great performer and looked pretty good! After all she IS a legend, although her music sucks these days.

I think the problem is not madonna neither their collections, which I find very interesting...
the problem is the lack of consistency in their image.. in the last 2 years they have passed through christina aguilera, rianne TH , 16 top model casting (i still dont get the 80´s idea), and now madonna..
it's just a reflect of their desperation to be back...

Ok we can go on and on about Versace is this Versace is that!! 2 me Vesace is of the coolest brands around!!And Donatella may have maid a few fashion and beauty mistakes but i think shes a smart women and i dont think that donatella thinks that madonna will increase the companys income its just 4 entertainment and thats what fashion should be about!

i'm sorry...but that is simply not true...madonna is being paid a FORTUNE for the shoot plus keeping an entire wardrobe...the ONLY reason she has been asked to pose for the campaign is to try to pull the company out of its financial slump...

of course fashion can be entertaining...but it is the fashion 'industry' and it is a business...in order to remain in business...you are required to sell a product...
sorry...but these are the cold hard facts...it's not a movie where people pay $10 to go and see a show...it's about selling merchandise...
which versace isn't doing very well these past few years....

Yeah, right. Donatella just wants her star power to pull Versace out of the dumps. Too bad no one cares about Versace or Madonna anymore.

so true.. madonna is going down, verscae is going way down..
what were their marketing people thinking? a match made in heaven?

they need a new creative direction, like urgently

btw> versace ss05 collection wasnt that bad really,
but people seem to be departing FAST from the versace influence..
We tried to market some 'versace inspired' coral & sea prints
for ss05 and there was like ..zero interest in the international mass market..

actually the use of madge has got them lots of commercial interest. Whats more some of their previous ads the models were made to look like maddonna like the one in vogue boy's ad

I for one like the ads, although the second one is better than the firts IMO. I think the ads show a different side of Versace, for people that think it is entirely about young club goers. Maybe hiring Madanna was an investment for the company to lure an older, maybe more sophisticated customer into Versace. Either way, I love Versace- regardless of the drama behind the label.
