This is a sick and beautiful collection from what appears to be another designer hopeful. Several years ago, in fact it was Alice Roi's first trip to the tent under the aegis of Moet-Chandon, the upstarts stole the show, the entire week in fact. Could we be in for a repeat?

de Souza's "doom of memory" is wonderfully surreal.

Lo, my understanding/interpretation: This collection refences the Surrealist painters. The ants/flies symbolize death similar to those used in the Dalí painting reproduced below. The only clock that isn't melting is covered by them. The "braces" (again to me) represent "drawers", i.e. the places in our minds where we store memories. To use shelves might've compromised the model's safety .

The eyes are another popular theme in Surrealist art. "The Surrealist eye, with its symbolic function of seeing— both in conscious vision and in unconscious dreaming has been an imagery adopted" <span style='font-size:10'>(from here... by fashion designer Schiaparelli, for one, who not only rendered them actually on some of her garments but also alluded to them in more metaphorical contexts.

I see the last dress as a peacock dress... dont you think?
I liked it very much!
About the braces... going along with Xophers interpret... remember that Dali used to paint crutches... and both seem to be used for support (the crutches symbolized some sort of fear -erectile disfunction?-)
