Victoria Beckham F/W 2023.24 Paris

She should learn from the Olsens.
I don't know... the public really has no memory and absolutely zero interest in involving thoughts or questions when it comes to trends and she really gives them something that feels very now and admittedly looks good. It will not survive the test of time but no one's really thinking of that (otherwise the same people who buy this wouldn't do contouring only to want to bury the evidence in 10 years!). I think she's in the same, safe path as the Olsens.

I'm probably one insufferable snob but I just can't take advice from someone who, in the same, post 30s adult stage she suddenly created this, went out like this (this is pre-Kardashian era so yes, it was that hideous). I like more linear trajectories and don't really care about someone who was once the raunchiest king of reggaeton and is suddenly determined to direct an orchestra and trying so hard to get the same reviews as, say, Dudamel lmao. Not that I want everyone to forever rot in their raunchiness but when the pursuit of cultural capital is all your motive, it's not that interesting.

The Olsens have a more refined taste but they still understand everything in this trendy, celebrity format. Victoria does it to establish herself fast but these two do it because they're fans and genuinely love fashion, but being a fan of 'really good' designers unfortunately does not make you one of them. These labels are like a very expensive imitation of a cool second-hand store, except it's all brand new and without the bed bugs, but ultimately, all rehash without any philosophy or thought involved, just some Petit Trianon scheme that reeks of entitlement when they pulled this idea from their sleeve and decided to pour their celebrity wealth into this new 'career', demanding the exact same clients, respect, prestige and response as any other designer. No school, apprenticeship, tiny bit of humility, nada. Not unlike all the short, generic girls that wake up suddenly deciding to be models and their famous parents buy them a surgeon and an IMG agent lol.

Very all over the place. She needs to find her thing and have a define vision! Every season it’s another story…And surprisingly in her website, the selection is coherent to what I would expect from a brand like hers.

Maybe rich person with a hobby?
This may be the most heinous dress I've ever seen.

I’m sure you’ll find worse in Virginie Viard’s collections…

She is very ambitious but trying too hard in many fields, her collaboration with Reebok is a Adidas/Stella wannabe, her make-up line with Estee Lauder is too Tom Ford Beauty.... But then the reason these two lines could work is because of Stella/Tom, whom have powerful vision to support their global business plan. The only steady business of her is the sunglasses...but it is easy to sell.

I don't care if she shows her collection on Mars, her work is always bland and lacking in imagination. She reminds me of a verrrrrry poor man's Theyskens
