Gosh, Paris fashion week excites me so much. :woot:

I usually love Viktor and Rolf, but it seems they have a straight season, then a crazy pseudo-couture season.

Some of the pieces look interesting, and the show itself looks like an extravaganza, but overall I'm a bit disappointed.

I guess there is the question, are big red bows ala a human birthday present really 'ready to wear'?

bizarre  but i can totally see the clothes being AMAZING without all the unwanted extra's

Very bizarre indeed, but as a big fan of bizarre, I am in love with this. Those big bows are indeed not really RTW, but I don't care really, it won't end up in teh stores anyway...I love it! This makes me proud to be Dutch :P

 Ah, it's so ridiculous!!

Yet... it's awe-inspiring...

That dress on Karen convinced me, this is my favourite Parisian collection thusfar...

putting a bag over a woman's head is not a way to earn my love and respect...

having said that..
i now see that this is in order to promote their fragrance 'flower bomb' and an effort to mimic the ad with the model having a scarf over her head....

but i'd say that bag was a 'bomb'...really annoying... :ninja:

aside from that...i think it was very clever of them to add all those bows and ribbons for the runway for impact...which can obviously be removed for retail...a clever way to make basic clothing high impact for the runway... i also like the 'ribbon' hairstyles...clever...

not bad...not great...but always curious...

 (without the ribbons)

That's probably the best thing I see.

But I agree with what Softgrey said...a bit of an aggressive PR move. I find it rather a bore and a complete turn-off. Kind of like Galliano. But this is what V&R has succumb to these days and frankly I have no more respect for them as designers.

love this dress, but i dont really understand why all the ribbons..
somehow i found this a bit boring :ninja:

I'm confused. I thought that V&R were done with the avant garde and wanted to make simple commercial clothes? I don't like this at all.

I'm not that excited over this, I mean those ribbons and bows look cool, but that's it. the collection as a whole is strange.
not too bad, but I like their past two rather commercial collections better (I have a few tops and shirts from those and they are just perfect  )
