“We always like to play with opposites and this season we mixed the elegance of the tuxedo with a lumberjack streetwear attitude.” So said Rolf Snoeren about the elegant Victor & Rolf pre-fall collection he designed with Viktor Horsting. It was all about masculine, angular lines paired with soft, feminine fabrics, as demonstrated on a cozy checkered mohair coat worn over silk and wool dégradé cigarette pants. Meanwhile, checkered organza details on sleeves added a bit of quirk to a cotton poplin shirt, worn under a fitted silk wool tuxedo jacket with silk pinafores.

mm... more images but the first one looks promissing... the last reminds me of versace menswear that just showed.

very serious collection

Indeed.

Although V&R has a tendency to do things that are better described than actually seen. There's something off about some of the pieces, maybe a stylish issue. If it weren't for the high heels, I would have been fooled into thinking this was actually a menswear collection and not a womenswear collection inspired by menswear.

Hopefully more pictures will be available to change my mind.
