It's unbelievable how the aesthetics of charm and sexiness have drastically changed (deteriorated) over the years.. it really saddens me, for some reason.

^ They really were! I had several issues from the 60s and the whole look of the magazine was classy and playful- very well done! And before all the photo shop and silicone, the girls, even in their editorials, were as fresh and beautiful as can be! I started losing interest in the magazine when they went too far into the Pam Anderson plastic blond era- it lost it's sophistication and became an upscale stripper look...And Art Paul, who was Hef's good friend and did the graphics for many years (he actually designed the bunny logo) was no longer around and it showed- he was a genius and his absence was noticeable..
I am in awe of many of the covers from the 60's; they are legitimately artistic, sensual without being vulgar (like the magazine is now). The women actually look sexy because they look like real, beautiful women- not blow up dolls.
^Yup! Some of Hef's favorites and girlfriends were just the most natural, beautiful, sexy and healthy looking girls- the Girls Next Door type do nothing for me- so plastic and almost a carbon copy of one another...
