That sounds so incredibly vain but the reason I got interested in Vlada was people telling me that I looked like her.

that's awesome! I got scouted twice, but I turned down the offers because I couldn't really see myself as a successful model, plus I was 19 or 20 at the time so my expiration date would be looming and my ex roomie said I looked exactly like kelli lumi but she's actually just a much prettier version of myself.


besides, if my competition looks like vlada I'd be pretty f'd....

She is inarguably beautiful, and her eyes are hypnotic. Which makes me wonder why her career never really peaked. Evidently, she's been one of the most successful runway models, but her runway success didn't actually translate into covers/editorials and campaigns. She did better than Lisa Cant and Heather Marks, but didn't quite manage to carve the niche Stam has managed to, and if you look at it, at bottom both Stam and Vlada represent the same blonde, blue-eyed, doll-faced aesthetic.

I think she has done much more editorials than heather marks and Lisa Cant, and tv commercial and magazine covers, although i do agree with the comment and about j. stam too, i personnally think that it was maybe because she was never an anna wintour's favourite, and to succeed in the business you gotta be in her eyes ! at least that's my opinion

^Sorry, but Heather had many more eds and covers than Vlada. Her career peaked early on and she's now getting about the same amount of eds and covers as Vlada, but Vlada is still big on the runway and so she's still in the spotlight.
