Is it my idea or her walk isn't that strong this season? I mean taking an opinion from the few shoes she's made... Hope to see her tomorrow at Jil Sander for sure, and Bottega Venetta or Emporio Armani.
All models have a shelf-life of a maximum of 4-5 years. Barring those select few models who go on to become extremely successful and break into the top 10 or make it to the icons list, it's unusual for a model to be as strong in their seventh year as in their first or second year, especially of they're on the wrong side of 20.
Models who started with Vlada - Snejana, Coco, Sasha, Tanya, Stam, Trentini, Heather Marks, the Lilys (Cole and Donaldson) et al - have either completely fallen off the radar, or have been doing only two or at the most three shows. Vlada's still around, doing a few shows in every city, isn't she? And she's been doing some good print work and some mainstream work as well (The Belstaff and Swaroski campaigns). More than what can be said for a lot of girls who started with her.
Besides, the casting for S/S 2012 in general has been all over the place. It's one of those seasons where no new face has been able to sweep the season, and the casting for some of the shows has been downright appalling (Versace, anyone?). Maybe, if trends reverse next season, we may be seeing a little more of Vlada, but even otherwise, for a runway model, she's had a tremendously successful run. She's been around since 2004. I doubt even some of the most in demand girls like Sigrid or Jacquelyn or Jac (as much I heart all three of them) will be around till 2015 walking 60+ shows even then.
