Vogue Adria June 2024 : Amelia Gray by Felix Cooper

Vogue #004

The young star of the global modeling scene, Amelia Gray, is on the cover of the fourth issue of Vogue Adria, and our new issue, as the cover itself announces, celebrates summer and with it the sea and water as the ultimate element that allows us to better understand ourselves and others, to be more fluid and adaptable, to understand the connectedness and our role in polluting but also solving the problems of planet Earth. From the Adriatic comes the sound of the Mediterranean in the rhythm of the Velvet Festival, but also three special sea stories about literature and art, fishing from a female perspective, and very special underwater wineries. With Erika Lust, the director of ethical and feminist p*rn films, we talked about women’s pleasure and empowerment, Vice Tomašević reminds us how the Water Manifesto should sound and why water is so important, Astrida Neimanis writes about what does hydrofeminism mean, Tina Lončar writes about materials of the future, waste reduction, and Hungry Sharks reveal to us what underwater theater looks like.

Girl can pose (although sometimes over pose) but facially does nothing for me.

Nothing about this says Vogue. Well, Old Vogue.

Local talent be damned? Lmao

I guess that was to be expected due to the stupid globalisation of stupid Vogue, but what was the point of launching another useless edition when it's completely irrelevant, has no original perspective or concept and is turning out to be full of reprints just like any other edition. I thought I'd collect this edition for giggles, but I don't even care enough to stop by the newsstand and grab a copy of such junk.

Vile. She looks extremely average and basic. Photos are “that one friend who got a DSLR camera and is a “photographer” now”.

@aracic , please get one copy, make a recording for us of this pile of cr*p burning to ashes. Then we all get you a ticket to Paris and you scatter the ashes over La Seine like Carrie Bradshaw, so Vogue can finally die in peace.

It's just so amateur-looking, and rather lifeless and sterile. I don't even mind the sight of Amelia Gray, think she's someone we're going to have to get used to, but the amateur photography and bland styling isn't helping matters here.

Fret not, it gets worse.
And I actually liked a couple of pictures in this editorial, they are quite dreamy.

This issue is laying on my coffee table, and by being there, I got used to the cover. It's far from a great cover but at least the colours are nice to look at during the heatwave.

Texts and contents are below what Serbian and Croatian Elle editions usually offer (the rebranded Grazia Serbia has better articles), everything just feels random and "lorem ipsum"...

I dont mind the cover or editorials. She may not be the most perfect looking model but she does have a great work ethic and you can tell that she's determined to become better same as Bella Hadid. The underwater editorial is decent though I've seen better on Fashion TV

This is cute for her. I like the simplify and parred down vibe. Instead of always trying to capture a forced cool. Like @Toni Ahlgren said, her nose is so crooked. Has it always been like this? I have never noticed it before......can't unsee it now.

Why does her nose look so crooked? I'm confused.
You kind of solved a visual mystery for me. I couldn't understand for months why her faced looked like when you're trying to see an image with slow internet and the pixels load like 〰️ if that makes sense. I thought she was just very asymmetrical but that really isn't it. Then I thought her features were just surgically forced into some kind of template (facial contouring is the name) and I still think that's what it is, but what makes this a bit of a trip is definitely the direction of the nose, it makes the left half of her face look higher. Add to that the ED she's been vocal about before and that she's holding on to for dear life to secure success and the fact that, unlike the Bella and Kendall (not the Kardashians, really just Kendall..), Amelia comes from the Lisa Rinna school of beauty.. they don't know the meaning of subtle when it comes to cosmetic procedures and I don't know if it's connected to that but it impacts facial expressions in modeling, she has this permanent, slightly grotesque yuck/duck pout thing going on that unlike a regular legit model, say Anna Ewers or.. maybe someone less sunny like Loli, anyone really, instead of making you focus on the image and invite you to enjoy it, you feel a bit of apprehension.

Also, this is a really bad story regardless of who the model is.. it's cropped in such an odd way. What is this? I feel like they were going for something similar to Terry Richardson's story with Bella Hadid in 2017 but the result is very.. 'peak of lockdown shot by my mom'.
