Vogue Arabia April 2017 : Imaan Hammam by Patrick Demarchelier

It's nice but rather disappointing. I would have expected better, especially with Imaan. It somewhat lacks spark. Something that would make it "wow". At the end, it just feels very simple, and yes, empty. I wish I liked it but it looks unfinished for me. Luckily the editorial looks better. Anyway, congrats to Imaan for another Vogue cover! She truly deserves this.

Another one for Miss Imaan. It's a very lovely profile of her beautiful face, but I could have done without the hair being so messy!! By this being a new edition of Vogue, I was hoping they would use the same photographer(s), since Vogue Italia doesn't anymore. (That was really a starmaking tactic.)

So pleased for Imaan, a real supermodel in the making and she looks gorgeous. The cover itself is very striking though I prefer the editorial shots overall, they are just stunning :heart: So well deserved!

Too soon to tell. Remember Vogue Turkey's first few editions? Look where it's at now.

Yes. You can never really tell. Especially these days. But so far I'm very pleased. I feel it has a unique mood to it.

A second striking cover for Vogue Arabia, they are rather challenging so far
I'm happy Imaan got it. Her editorials looks so beautiful

Good for her getting so many covers but this is pretty boring.

The editorial is simply stunning...:heart::heart:

I've became a huge admirer of Imaan over recent months but I'm afraid this cover just isn't doing it for me. Absolutely love Patrick Demarchelier's work and I like the images from Imaan's cover story, as opposed to the profile shot used on the cover, though (which kinda reminds me of Prince). The closeup of Imaan wearing the navy blazer and embellished collar would've made a much better cover, IMO.

I haven't even spotted the debut edition in stores yet, don't think our shop will stock it either. Will try to source it online.

So that's what their feature art direction looks like? Don't like it. Very Cosmo in 1998. And isn't the word 'moor' too archaic, if not a bit derogatory? :o

All the elements of the editorial are very generic so it shouldn't be surprising that it fell flat. Imaan is doing her best to elevate it, unfortunately she didn't save it. Demarchlier is the one to blame here.

Meh! If this was Vogue Paris everyone will be saying Alt should stop her obsession with this type 80's/90's aesthetic. Vogue Arabia does not even bother to hide it with a mix of something different, they just go vintage all the way.

7 editorials for April?? Wow! That's even more than American or Chinese Vogue.

Halima's edit looks more like a celebrity one, but some shots are nice. I actually thought they'd save her for an OG cover considering.

Not mad about how they've styled that Erdem dress. It looks messy and quite heavy with the white turtleneck. Wouldn't the trick be to opt for more covered up dresses as opposed to covering up a revealing look? This to me is not unlike a vegetarian eating meat-flavoured soya.
