Really? Them again? How lame. I understand why you'd repeat Frederikke Sofie but Ruth always looks dreadful. At least it looks better than their July cover and i'd even say that this is the best cover for them this year. But that's not hard.

And isn't September their anniversary cover every year?

I like it!! Another September issue to get. It's much better than the one released merely two months ago? Ruth Bell is such a beautiful girl beyond the pink hair and bold colour lips. And autumnal styling against the sea background works really well here. Nice to see McGinley at Vogue China.

In a way this reminds me of their Karlie/Patricia, Anja/Sasha covers.

I wish that the pose was different because of that great background... this looks like vacationing girls posing for a family pic imo.

I don´t like this at all the girls look weird, not confident, they seem to pose for a friend, the styling is bloody awful !!! And the layout is boring, nothing works here, nothing.

This is so lackluster , I was expecting something more iconic like Sun Feifei or Liu wen to start the FW season

Just when i though Bell's moment was over..

I love them both, but I want Chinese models on the september cover of Vogue China, simple as that!

But, the cover looks great! I love McGinley

Gorgeous, love that it feels alive, Ryan deserves more work. I always like his Vogue covers.

Ryan is a great photographer and both girls are beautiful but I would have liked to see Chinese models get the September issue cover. This year I believe we've only had one Chinese model on the cover–Xiao Wen Ju in April and I think there was a supplement of some sort with Yang Caiying, would be nice to see more.

Couldn't agree with you more about the cover feeling alive! You almost feel like you're behind the lens yourself, with the colours being so vibrant, the sense of movement and lighting. I mean it's not my taste but I do admire it for how effortless and natural the cover feels.

I love the image. I think the colour palette is beautiful, the lighting is superb. Ryan is one of my fav photographers, so I may be a touch biased, but I think this is a wonderful photo.

I'm not sure I agree with the opinion that they should've used a Chinese model for the cover. That's like saying Vogue US should only have Americans covering their September issue (since the year 2000, there have been 8 Americans cover the Sept issue - so exactly half the time). The cover stars should either be people who are culturally relevant in the country (as has been the case for Vogue US since 2000, including all their non-American cover stars) or should just be an excellent fashion image (as is the case here - in my opinion). Whether or not Vogue China chooses Chinese cover stars depends largely on their mandate with regards to having the cover star carry some cultural significance.

I like it. It feels refreshing. The colors are lovely. The mood is everything.

However, it feels like their covers are now on a template. (Multi girl-put an arm on the other girl-+++) they need to change it up. This would have been better if someone was sitting by the rocks and one was standing beside her. Or both of them were sitting

So much could have been done with this setting.

Absolutely agree with you! Vogue India covers Indian women each month and look at what trainwreck they are. Not sure why people are all of a sudden clamoring for Chinese models on Vogue China. It's not like they'd have given it to anyone other than a big superstar or Du Juan/Fei Fei/Liu Wen etc anyway. At least the casting reflects NOW, what's actually happening in the fashion world, a fresh take.

Looks like another poor digital-matting. I don’t get why they bother with on-location shoots (if they really are on-location...) just to end up with a cover that’s so fake-looking with it’s digital compositing.

bit odd to pick these 2 girls and put them together why not ruth and her sister, or frederikke only?

The same goes for Vogue Taiwan!
