Vogue España April 2015 : Chiara Ferragni by Nico Bustos

I'll happily take another Gigi cover over this one. Jane Birkin was featured in the March issue. Would have been better to give Jane a cover over this bottom barrel.

When I though what could be worse than the cover, the editorial is the worst. And as much as she’s a well-known fashion blogger, I’m just not buying the whole ‘need-to’ve-relevant’ idea from Vogue Spain. And I’ll take Cara or even Kendall over this girl Argh!

I've never liked Chiara Ferragni's blog, to me it never looked like a blog, I have trouble following bloggers that dress like fashion editors. There's nothing relatable about that. Anyway, that cover is pretty boring I have to say, and as someone pointed it out, the font used is easily downloadable anywhere and does not scream Vogue to me..

they put the girl who named her blog the blonde salad on the cover of vogue?! ugh.

I don't hate Chiara Ferragni, and after everything she's done in the past few years I kind of understand why Vogue Spain wanted to talk about her. But making her their cover, shooting an editorial ? I mean that's good for her but I don't really get it.

Also this cover isn't Vogue worthy at all. The styling is bad and like MON said, the font used to write her name is available for free on the internet.
I can't say I'm disappointed because I don't read Vogue. But still, I expect better.

i complained about kim / i will always complain about kardashians in magazines because they're trash

but chiara is actually extremely gorgeous and looks like a model so...she appeals to me

Everyone that was involved with this cover - the stylist, art director, EIC, and anyone that did not say no during the whole process - should be out of a job right now. I can not believe a Vogue chose a halfwit like her as their cover subject and then topped it off with a comical layout.

Thanks God, this is something ill being hoping for a long time. I dont like the cover it self. The shoot is pretty bland an insipid. But Chiara is the perfect cover girl. Even is she is not my favorite one.

As a person who lives in a non-fashion driving country, i only can live my pasion for the industry online. I belive in how the internet and Social Media have changed the fashion game. This girls, and some boys, have make their way into spots that were only conected people have had.

Watching a girl like Chiara on the front row, give me, and others the hope to work our way and make our dreams come true.

This is not just about her, is about millions of people that go online everyday and express their voices and pasion on twitter, instagram and forums, JUST LIKE THIS.

I belive in this new era, and Chiara is a proof of that, and the most successful BTW. This girl, that a lot claim to not know... Yeah, sure... Bank $ 8 millions, just in 2014, out of her brand.

Seeing her on the cover seems to me like Vogue is finally aware of that. Another win to fashion 2.0!

So now bloggers are on the cover of Vogue? Elle would have been better.

The cover it is beautiful for Vogue Spain standards, and let's face it, it was a matter of time that bloggers would appear in covers, she looks beautiful and the layout it is more commercial and relevant to the customers, than putting a model that nobody knows at some point.
People forget this is a business, and i am sure this issue will sell like hot caked, specially with that catchy layout, surprised only that Vogue Spain took the first step on putting bloggers and not any more edgiest magazines, surprised that they took risk cause it is not their strength.

Very interesting perspective. I dont associate with it, but I respect your point of view. Personally I feel these celebrity fashion bloggers, along with socialites and reality starlets represent part of what's wrong with this industry right now. But that's a different discussion. Back to this cover - must the execution be so sub-par though? The dated styling and messy layout reeks like Marie Claire on a budget cut. It's not really a triumph for Chiara when she books the cover, but doesnt get the Vogue treatment. I'd have expected something more striking, making a more distinctive statement than this snoozefest.

^ It is an interesting prospective, and very well stated Fotoholic.

I actually agree with a lot of what you said. My problem isn't so much with a blogger on a cover of Vogue, but the particular blogger. Chiara to me is just someone who likes to show off designer brands, and follow trends, without any real taste of her own. If I saw her walking down a street I wouldn't find her stylish, I would find her as try-hard.

Give me Elin Kling, Tavi, Jane Aldridge, Alexandra Spencer, any of them over this clown.

^ on the other hand i much prefer her. i'd rather see her than so many of those other wannabes who wear cheap clothes/are very badly styled all the time..i want something i can dream about, aspire to. i wish i had chiara's wardrobe!!

A blogger on Vogue is worse than Kim K on Vogue, I hope all those people who were freaking out when Kim appeared on the cover will be complaining now as well. Otherwise they're bunch of hypocrites.

Facts aside, it's a nice cover, she looks okay.

In what way is worse? Kim K was in the cover of Vogue because she made a sex tape and unashamedly takes trash to new limits in her quest for money and attention , this girl on the other hand created a totally inoffensive blog that a lot of kids seem to follow and is reaping the rewards on the way. They are worlds apart.

I have nothing against bloggers on the cover of Vogue, but the success of this Chiara baffles me, she' nice enough, but that's about it. And this cover is exactly her. It's just...boring.

I have nothing against who it is, only what it looks like.

Doesn't that description sort of fit Vogue Spain though??? :ermm:
