Looks like a special edition like Vogue Russia's 'Vogue in Cinema'?

The cover doesn't appeal to me because she appears to have been retouched to hell and back. Also, it looks more like an overprocessed Testino fashion image than anything cinematic.

So they got different cinematic photographers to create these posters? Tom Ford's look the least believable, which is odd because he's an actual capable director. I quite like the last two posters, especially the one with Fan Bingbing (who must be gutted that she didn't get he cover!). Oh, and Bai Bai He!

All these supplements when they can't even pull the magazine together

Looks like an advertorial section that would appear in the Hollywood issue of Vanity Fair.

She is wearing that fabulous FW collection:wub::wub::wub:

I like the cover and i love Tom but he needs to stop appearing behind "his women".

All these supplements when they can't even pull the magazine together

you nailed it! I think they have a lot of resources but absolutely no artistic direction or point of view. Much smaller magazines in much smaller countries are more well regarded and respected than Vogue china simply because they make up for the lack of big name photographers and large circulations with consistent direction and something to say. A shame because Angelica Cheung comes across as a very intelligent and insightful woman, maybe it's her team letting her down. These supplements feel silly and like an excuse for ad pages.

I think Angelica Cheung is too concerned with expanding the Vogue brand in China than actually editing content in the main edition. From a financial perspective it makes sense to launch these titles if you're up to your elbows with advertisers. And as long as people are buying, which must be the case, we won't see an end to this.

The first pic is a big no to me, that collection-lookbook styling not works for her, and the composition...what's the point of Ziyi being there?

 What is this?? Why does all their images starting to look so budget??

Du Juan is a legend but that whole edit is awful, it just looks like stills from a cheesy commercial, there's no art or nuance at all. I feel embarrassed for all the people involved in this supplement. How much did they have to pay Tom Ford and Fan Bing Bing?

What's the point of this supplement? Is there a film festival in China this summer?
The TF ed is quite meh. The collection is still fabulous but Ziyi doesn't bring it to me. I like the close-up of her wearing the pink fur/pink top but the photo with Tom is weird. He is upstaging her and she does look insecure!

Du Juan is always great but i don't understand it.

Brautiful ed, but it's just me or I find Rueh's eyes look quite weird in the last pic.

Beautiful ed, but it's just me or I find Ruth's eyes look quite weird in the last pic.

Nope, it's not just you! Her eye looks wonky in that shot, most likely a post-production oversight.
I do like the editorial, it's that refinement which Vogue China was so synonymous with years ago.

Thanks for posting, MDNA!

What's the point of this supplement? Is there a film festival in China this summer?

Well, it's essentially a supplement which was apparently packed with the June issue. Meaning that the June issue came with the Bridal, and this Film supplement.

Vogue China goes into film. Over the past month, a number of Chinese influencers and celebrities have pushed out fashion films on their Weibo accounts, produced in collaboration with Vogue China, which has launched a new supplement called “Vogue Film.” Fashion designer Tom Ford and Hollywood actress Zhang Ziyi cover the magazine’s June edition.

“Today, a growing number of readers get their information via videos. I observed that although various platforms are full of videos, few are able to integrate sophisticated fashion and a degree of entertainment together. This inspired me to launch the Vogue Film brand, which combines short fashion films with a print edition, to further convey Vogue’s attitude about fashion and its values on all platforms,” say Angelica Cheung, editor-in-chief of Vogue China, in a pre-written interview provided to BoF.

The new title will be published biannually, and a key aspect of the project will be producing fashion videos that can be monetised through clients.

How much did they have to pay Tom Ford and Fan Bing Bing?

I don't think neither of them got paid, actually. Tom Ford most likely shot the cover and feature in return for his clothes and make-up being used extensively in that cover/edit. And Fan Bingbing boast with a string of endorsements as long as my arm (one of them will have footed this bill, I'm sure).
