Vogue France December 2022/January 2023 : Lily Collins by Maciek Pozoga

You should hunt back issues from 2001 to 2008 so you feel like you're still buying it. It's always hard leaving a magazine. It's a company that last years. The not so new CEO of Conde Nast is killing this magazine reputation around the world. He don't care at all. Just want to sell copies to Gen Z kids and having tons of likes in social media.

That's exactly why I switched from newsstand.co.uk to eBay. It's far more exciting and feels like a much better investment.

I've got them - proudly own every issue of French Vogue under both Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt. I was recently, however, thinking of embarking on a mission to collect all issues of Vogue Paris under Joan Juliet Buck!

I was fond of the JJB era, but the issues before that have a formal grandeur and sophistication to them that really makes them seem like a magazine from another age. I've never found myself wanting to buy a JJB, Carine or Alt issue again, but I always want to retrieve ones from the early 90s because it's like a lost world.

this would be bad even for jalouse magazine. are the execs at conde nast about to hand their magazines for free in the near future?

I still cant get used to see the "France" instead "Paris"
This new EIC just can't do a proper job, this covers are cheap, hideous and tacky... bring back glamour and something I wanna buy.

The type of cover that would never have seen the light of day under Emmanuelle Alt and maybe just this once I'd have agreed with her. I'm all for this new Vogue France but they're starting to veer a little too much toward the commercial side.

But aside from the mediocre cover choice, the cover photography which used to be as prestigious for this magazine is truly awful. No idea who this photographer is and not at all interested to find out.

Oh and the desperation of Vogue France to share that IG post just to tap into her following.
