26pg for a “fashion” story— is mighty impressive for this pamphlet supplement to Edward’s Vogue.
It's charming with it’s a sunny, vibrant, warm energy that’s very Italian: It has personality. As a travelogue and tribute of this romantic and colourful ideal of the region— filled with cartoony, colourful Edina Monsoon characters, it works fantastically… Although it’s too bad it’s shot not very flatteringly in terms of angles and lighting of the individuals. But in that sense, it’s very on-trend with unflattering imagery as a sign of “be yourself”— even when you’re presented in a fashion rag. In better fashion times— like during Franca’s reign, this would be a cute story that’s just a feature tucked towards the end— not a coverstory. But in these days of midrange department-store flyer fashion stories, this absolutely is a standout— just has nothing to do with fashion.

@tigerrouge mentioned, at least this and a some of the featured stories still maintain their Italian identity, unlike the mandated reprints. And speaking of reprints, if people think it’s bad now, just what until Edward has complete dictatorship of Vogues "editorial content" across the globe; His agenda of dumbing down to the most common level for everyone, and for Black dominance on the covers/fashion stories/feature stories will be even more ruthless. Forget about a country’s own representation and identity, it’s
Edward’s Vogue's representation and identity come 2024.
