Vogue Germany March 2019 : Isabella Rossellini, Miuccia Prada & Carolyn Murphy

Underwhelming.
But I do love Isabella and Miuccia's style.

What are the rest of the inside stories like? These covers are so boring!

All boring lol

Right? What you see here are just about the highlights from the issue. There's another long story shot by Lacombe featuring festival directors, gallerists, architects and of course everyone's go-to older model.....Maye Musk. It's as expected a series of b&w shots, so nothing special. The issue was photographed by a female-only cast..

For a March issue, this is terribly underwhelming. Caroline's editorial, posted by Kate, is just too awful for words. Not so much the photography, but the sequence of the images is the worst I've ever seen. Arp really butchered it with that layout. And it seems they're back to being pretentious, until next month probably.

I'm just left thinking since Miuccia and Isabel Marant got featured, where is Jil Sander? Is it that she hasn't contributed enough to women?

That’s it? Indeed very underwhelming for a March issue.

Ajak Deng is in Athletic Grace, not Grace Bol

This feels like a Februray issue, and their Feb issue had strong enough content, for March, lol!

Arp really needs to sort out her art direction, no idea why she suddenly went in this direction, it's not appealing. But boy how lovely is that ed with Isabella?!!! Buying just for that, makes me like her cover more now. She is also such a Vogue Germany woman, i think she has at least 10 covers for them, so its amazing to see her back.

And Benn98 i would LOVE to have seen Jill on the cover (there is still time hahah), she has two already, and been on the cover long before it became fashionable to have designers on Vogue covers.

There should be more of Miuccia . Georgina is gorgeous as ever but that ed is a dull waste of her. I love the idea of doing a Grace Jones homage. But as daring as Grace is, they should have amped up that ed. I'd have been happy with a cover of Ajak somehow.

It's funny you should mention the 10-covers thing, Arp mentioned that too in her editor's letter. She basically outlined why they went with the three cover women. I still reckon I'd probably have only gone with Isabella's cover. Of course Isabella have a stronger connection to Germany than to Italy or Sweden, so I can understand why Germans like her that much. Her mum lived there during the war (I don't much know what she was up to during those years, but thank God she didn't make any films), and afterwards when Hollywood blacklisted her for carrying on with a married man.

I didn't know Jil had covers, but it doesn't shock me! I know it sounds vain, but always thought that she had the kind of look and presence that would actually appeal to most women out there.
