Vogue Germany May 2013 : Kati Nescher by Luigi & Daniele + Iango

she looks amazing but it is sooo boring :( when did vogue germany stop becoming so good..nothing has been great from them for a few months now!

^I actually find VG improving! Ever since November cover, there wasn't a let-down cover (maybe Tina's cover wasn't anything special, but the fact it was Tina herself made the cover great). And when I think of all those dreadful covers from beginning of 2012...

Ach, at last someone sharing my bittersweet feeling towards Vogue Germany. This magazine used to be a standout on my non-existing shelf a fews years ago, thank to Koto Bolofo's imaginative stories and their ability to push Ellen von Unwerth out of her comfort zone. I recall myself crossing the river (as I live five minutes from Germany) and coming back with less cigarettes just because I wanted to buy Vogue (eyes closed). Now it's just another lonely glossy lost in a crowd of paper clones. Still some good stories, appealing covers, nice ideas but nothing to get literally electrified about. And, as gorgeous as Kati may look here, it's just not this way I love to see her. I've often read about her being dead-stared or plain-in-print and often found myself disagreeing with such statements as she can really put her stamp on an image when the right ingredients surround her. Here I only see a smoother version of her mysterious face that suddenly could be absolutely any other model, a dun (dull?) background and clothes that just look like clothes. A real pity as the cover leaves you with slightly thicker expectations and Daniele and Iango actually do have enough talent to capture a story pretending to mix poetic punk with classic elegance and make it look tastier than a few catalogue pages.

That editorial is not working. I can't focus on anything but that hair (mane?).

AMAZING issue, I'm vary happy with VG's lastest issues. They're all surprising me in a fantastic ways

Hmmm, so she is floating, right?
I have serious issues when it comes to this Luigi + D&I combo. I always find everything so overthought :innocent: The cover is still fantastic, but the editorial is quite disappointing. And the styling isn't helping either.

I was so happy when I found it yesterday at the airport (before leaving Germany for a while)! It is some sort of art issue, isn't it? or is there always that much art content in VG. I haven't read it regularly in long time, but might come back to it, after this issue.
Now the grilie question: do we have a magazine make-up thread? I love how the lipstick on the cover works with her (=my) eye colour.

^ ok, I'm officially plain stupid, it's in the magazine, the lipstick......

I was quite disappointed today when I saw Kati's ed while I was going through my copy. The outfits are great, but the hair element is really bad. Thanks god the hair on the cover was much more subtle - more like a wind effect.

The last shot of Kati in her edit makes up for the rest of it but I do love Karlina and Edita's!

Could someone screencap/scan the editorial with Helene Desmettre?
