Vogue India January 2020 : Katy Perry by Greg Swales

Maybe this is Vogue India's interpretation of 'diversity', lol. Technically it's not another Indian woman.
The styling is an eyesore, and the white masthead and text was a bad choice, but at least it made me look.

I'm intrigued by the casting choice because Katy only covered Australian Vogue beyond the US. And that was really because she went on tour there, so this cover feels very random.

This is so random and sort of an "I'll get what I can get" moment for Katy Perry.

We call it a Rihanna Moment

They can’t even be original with the art direction of the Vogue Values. Exact replica of US Vogue

This is a random choice, reminds me when Vogue Arabia put Ciara on the cover. Is she relevant enough to get a cover or this is a PR strategy to make people talk about her when no one is talking about her new music?

Don't get me wrong, I like Katy but facts are facts.

I was expecting a disaster but I'm pleasantly surprised. She looks good here, the video is just pointless though.

I think she headlined some kind of concert/fest in Mumbai, India. Hence, the cover.

This is very random indeed, is Katy even popular in India? I do have to say that I quite like the cover image, we have seen a lot worse from this edition.

The concept would have been amazing for a model maybe dark haired

Well, I'll give Katy credit for going on a legitimate location shoot. Most celebrities expect a team to be sent to LA to do a boring a$S shoot next to a lousy pool in the Hollywood Hills somewhere.
Nice to see someplace different in the world.
And I do like the photo with the orange marigolds. Now, for the styling on the rest of those pages...

That edit is so bad that it's good, like a Lindsay Lohan film. I like that they've kept the Katy craziness because it makes it unique to look at. That shot of her dancing in the frayed dress should have been zoomed out to make it look better.
The pieces in the edit are mostly repurposed looks from the likes of Ronald van der Kemp etc.

The second edit is passable but no original. This photographer must clearly have an eye for nature it doesn't mesh very well with the cast. Vogue Mexico/Latin America does it better.

I do like the styling on Indigo Children only because I love En Inde.
