Vogue Italia December 2011 : Karlie Kloss by Steven Meisel

In the last couple of months Karlie Kloss is becoming my 'guilty pleasure'.
Or maybe I am actually seeing some potential, after all.
As a cover image it is certainly nothing spectacular, but she looks amazing and this is screaming 'supermodel' from the rafters.
She is giving great 'everything' here. Nice job.

Oh God, Karlie killed this one. I love it! She's working that amazonian, 90s supermodel feeling which are just evident from the pose up to the way she was photographed. I'm really liking this new direction that Karlie is getting into. I'd have to agree that she's like the new Gisele. I mean, come on, we need a new "übermodel" here. Although what's up with the bow? Is it really part of the cover?

Can't wait to see her editorial. Carlyne did the styling honors again so I'm excited.

I don´t think the ribbon/bow is part of the cover, I think the site added that because it´s the december issue.

I love it! Well it doesn't look like VI,more like VP but come on it's Meisel! Karlie looks stunning though!
Oh and I hate the ribbon but I think it can be a real one, tied into a bow over the cover as a symbol of Christmas.

she kinda looks like malgosia here, not the face, but the pose and attitude, which i like (as was said earlier, it has a 90s feel to it), but i'm struggling with karlie being sexy...

something about the facial expression and bottom body shape doesn't seem right, but overall the cover works for me, maybe because of the attitude it delivers.

^Because she is! I know, I know, Gisele is Gisele and she can't be replaced, which is not what I am implying at all. But as far as model qualities, personality, star quality, charisma and beauty goes, Karlie is well on her way in becoming what Gisele was at the beginning of this century. Gisele 2.0, like I said before somewhere.

What does Tyra Banks have to do with this...not to mention, I'm sure she'd photograph beautiful as evidenced by her previous work with Meisel but I digress....

I quite like the cover, her pout is a bit too "trying to be fierce," but overall it works.
