Vogue Italia January 2008 : Guinevere van Seenus by Steven Meisel

^^Same here,BUT i do like Guinevre's editorial, the solitude feel of it is beautiful imo.

^^I just think that it seems to have the same feeling or mood as a fairy tale would have. Some of Guinevere's shots remind me of princesses like Cinderella or Snow White and the bright friendly colours just remind me of a fairy tale. It's so soft and happy to me, like a fairy tale is. :crush:

^^Oh ok  i can see that, and thats the beauty of fashion editorials everyone interperts it on its own. :flower:

^Indeed Guinevers ed is not fairy tale at all.

Like Miss Dalloway said, everyone interprets it in their own way. That is just how I interpreted it and it is what it reminds me of. :flower:

Does anyone have the issue yet? I'd love to see some scans...and I'd love to know who the other girl in Masha's ed is :D

^So we can finally see the new january rankings for your top 75

I like the feeling of being in a fairy tale, but I don't think this issue is that great. I am underwhelmed, sadly.

oops i got something on my mind:
1. on the cover. looks a bit outdated as for vogue italia
2. on masha. i love the girl but she DESPERATELY needs a haircut. think of some bob - she'll make cecilia mendez crush&burn.
3. on olga's ed. i can clearly see how sick we'll be by the end of the season with all these ruffles-transparent-novelty-and-all-the-new-romance-fever. give me some sci-fi chick BACK.

This cover would be exciting us IF it was 1998 and not 2008. Much as I love Guinevere and the concept of her working for Vogue Italia again - and the quiet loveliness of the cover - nothing about it moves me. It's all classic Vogue Italia, but somehow, it's not working.

I have all her earlier covers, and even looking at them today, it reminds me how how I felt when I first saw them, and the excitement of getting each issue. Now the same combination doesn't have any magic at all. It's just 'a nice shot', which is great for any other magazine, but this is Vogue Italia.

^you're back :woot:

I guess I'm gonna buy this issue because of catwalk suplement. But Tim Walker's ed looks good too and maybe there are some new ads.. little eyecandy.

^well she's not very easy looking for sure... But i liked her at Luella, London...
she looked soo funny... like the girl nobody talks to in highschool, but to who i always used to smile because i didn't like this attitude from the people...

anyway...
her face is already not easy... so with those big yellow eyebrows the haircut and the big green line under her eyes, I think I'm 90% with you Taben....

but I like this sort of sculpture they did around her...
the whole feeling, I got is very Neo-Futuristic-Tribal something from Mars...

and I think we won't see the Balenciaga styled like this in a long time....
.
completely agree :woot: your description of Masha's character's delicious and rather close to mine...:heart:

it looks like the most boring vogue itallia issue i have ever seen
