Vogue Italia May 2024 : Irina Shayk by Theo Liu

Every time I see that July 2023 cover, I still like the way they committed to the vintage feel by choosing that slightly off-white colour that early 90s Vogue Italias develop over time.

Always loved Irina Shayk but this is a massively missed opportunity for me. Theo Liu's photography is amateur beyond belief and I'm dumbstruck over how underwhelming Anastasia Barbieri's styling is. The cover shot itself is hideous, far too zoomed out for my taste. This could've been fierce but it's a FLOP.

Learned today, after a year and a couple of months, this is a fold-out cover, featuring F1 car racers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr., both of them so handsome, but the picture itself is not suitable for a female fashion title, belongs more to a sport magazine. Both wearing a helmet and their signatures. Waste indeed, they are gorgeous.
