Vogue Italia September 2011 : Stella Tennant by Steven Meisel

The supplementary cover is gorgeous. This issue is definitely slam dunk.

I can't help but cringe whenever I see this cover. Not because it's bad, but because it looks so painful. :o

A disappointing line up of main editorials. Only 5!?! Such a shame.

By the way for any magazine freak like me who's interested in page count this issue has about 550 pages

It's a wonderful issue!

Loving Isabeli's ed and the main cHaute Couture one.

Steven Klein's shoot is very interesting too.

I was underwhelmed by the main ed...

^ But the thing is Vouge US can't take risks like Vogue Italia and I don't think that they should. They've never been a particularly risky magazine and that's fine.

I totally see what you are saying and in a way I agree. However, I think that Vogue US used to often do more interesting covers at times. But now they only ever put celebrities on the cover and once in a while a model. So in that way, I suppose I wish they would shake things up. I wish they would be more creative with the covers, they don't have to be dark/gothic like VI, but at least not the same cover style every time. Because when I go to the newsstand it blends in with other magazines whereas VI tends to standout. And I suppose if you were to put both the Vogue US and Vogue Italia magazines next to each other I personally would gravitate towards VI based on cover alone (although, I did love seeing Kate on Vogue US).

Deborah Turbeville :woot:

So few editorials and so few models. That's quite disappointing. :(

Hmm.. that seems a little small for a September issue. You'd think there'd be more editorials.

Can't wait to see Deborah Turbeville's ed!

Looking forward to Isabeli's and Jacquelyn's editorials. Those previews look gorgeous! Wish Georgia May Jagger would sod off somewhere, and if editors or stylists want to use that "look", Daphne or Anais are better and frankly more interesting looking faces, if they can't afford Lara. The cover is disturbing to look at, yet arresting all the same.
