Not sure, but..it was part of the overhaul when Anna's role began to shift as CD for Conde Nast, superseding just her reign at American Vogue. I believe it happened around the time that Vogue UK was changed to British Vogue, and Vogue Paris changed to Vogue France. Soon after, other international editions popped up around the globe. So, I guessed it was more about globalizing Vogue as a brand, and allowing more distinct nature within each territory and thus edition.I did not know of this change as I am not familiar with those editions.
