Vogue Japan January 2022 by Yasutomo Ebisu

The last editorial is very good, save the whole issue for me. Alyda looks great.

I wish I had a gratitude journal so I could be grateful for Sissy Vian.

Anyone know who is the new editor?

It is still Mitsuko Watanabe, which did not surprise me considering that her last Editor's Letter did not sound like a farewell at all!

EDITOR'S LETTER & MASTHEAD

Vogue Japan Digital Edition

Thank you Zorka for posting!

May I know which eds they reprint for this month? I guess the jeans ed from Vogue UK Dec?

Looks like my collection of Vogue Nippon/Japan will come to an end too (after Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris). I only miss two issues from the launch issue to end of 2021. I will see how this magazine turns out when the new season comes under the supervision of the editor from Vogue Taiwan. I won't get my hope high.

Jeans ed from UK Vogue Dec issue
Anna Ewers ed by Edie Wrey from UK Vogue Nov issue
Rita Ora feature from Vogue Australia

The Goldberg's edit is flawless, looks like a spread of Vogue Paris & the rest of the features are boring & bland (includes the cover story).

I loathe this unofficial rebranding of Japan.

They’re clearly begging for likes/follows from children weened on SM, hence the bland InstaLook of the content. Everything is so boring and outlet-mediocrity. Gone are any semblance of a woman’s Vogue.

The coverstory isn’t a total waste, unfortunately dragged down by a weak photographer. However, it could have been so much more and oozes potential with the location and cast, and even clashing colors of that collab. It’s opening spread is the strongest— only because of the gorgeous location taking centerstage (…and LOL @“styling” since they blatantly had to present as-is total looks for this advertorial). Everything after the coverstory is a boring bland blur— even the Nathaniel one; it just meanders for too long and doesn't go anywhere.
