Vogue Japan July 2016 : Mica Arganaraz by Richard Burbridge

I wonder what in your opinion is a bad cover  you seem to find everything great and gorgeous.
I have seen her for many years saying negative things in this section, so not really true. I kind of wonder more about people that are ":sick:" in every single thread.. sometimes I even wonder if they like fashion at all , or are kind of just into it all for the models and the rest feels like a generally unpleasant/disappointing part of the experience (completely influenced by the model.. of course!).

This cover is neither here or there for me, it's Vogue Japan and the tacky woman that has hijacked this lovely magazine and turned it into her mirror reflection for years now. It's almost like this is her real Vogue Italia. Nothing unusual about how wrong it all looks. I always feel bad for the Japanese, they continue to put out pretty much the very best of magazines, the best designers, fashion is not a complete waste of time thanks to them.. and yet their Vogue is at the bottom of the barrel thanks to people that aren't even Japanese. Then again, they're probably too busy caring for actual interesting things to think about who does what at something like Vogue lol..

^ I think Vogue Japan could be genius if there was a Japanese person as Creative Director.

^ I don't know who was EIC in the early-mid 00s but the stories were superb, so many of the usual teams at Dutch would work for Vogue Nippon too, and up and coming talents at the time like Oliver Rizzo.. Joanne Blades also appeared there regularly. I'm guessing it was a non-Japanese person, but it still worked, now imagine if they employed the current teams at Union, So-En. I don't think the covers would improve though, this type of quick/flyer cover seems almost mandatory among Japanese magazines regardless of what they're going for content-wise.. when the magazine is good, it's kind of refreshing among the so-called collectible covers (e.g. CR- great covers, garbage content), but when the content here is like being hungover inside Anna Dello Russo's laundry basket, covers like this can be so sad.

I actually like her hair and eye makeup here. And as usual, the text is overwhelming.

My eyes!!! Can a moderator please add a disclaimer to this thread... That which is seen cannot be unseen?!

I'm not sure what's more hideous about this, the layout, that tacky Gucci dress or that HIDEOUS hair, she looks like she just woke up, I'm officially tired of Mica.

That's when you have the most beautiful girl and then you destroy everything. I can't even look at it twice.

Are they serious or what? That's a really ugly cover. Everything looks terrible.

Hahah thank you Mullet. Really don't think of myself as someone who sees every cover as "great & gorgeous" , but also never felt bad about being the only one giving praise (or critique) in a thread full of dislike for a cover.

Mica pulls this off for me.

Does anyone actually wear those hideous Gucci things? It's a terrible cover but I feel as if it would be less so if she were wearing something else. They did a number on her face though.

"Homage to the Master" is embarrassing. The cover is embarrassing. This July issue is already embarrassing.
Vogue Japan is starting to be an embarrassment for Fashion.

I actually liked seeing the archive Christian Dior pieces, but Anna is a terrible model and the retouching is insane- it doesn't even look like her!

This Italian woman's ego is really on another level! Wouldn't be shocked if one of these shots ends up in her apartment, hanging on the wall.
I do like the Dior shot, but it's one of those outfits in which most women will look stunning. Also, they retouched to hell and back.

I guess if you can separate them Anna Dello Russo is the embarrassment, not Vogue Japan. Literally anyone else would be better than her. Let's not get crazy, it isn't Vogue Netherlands.
