Vogue Netherlands September 2014 : Lara Stone by Angelo Pennetta

This is just awful. VNL is easily bottom 3 Vogue editions at this point. Just when you think they can't go any lower, they manage to do just that.

I remember Karin saying that she could go to Testino for shooting the covers, but instead they wanted to use local talent. Now i'm starting to believe they can't even get Testino, not even Inez&Vinoodh.

India is worse. It's debatable whether Thailand/Taiwan is worse than NL. Latinamerica and Portugal produce better covers. Regardless, Bottom 3 or Bottom 5, it's embarrassing for VNL that we're even having this discussion.

Everything is off with this cover except for the model choice. Much more could've been done with Lara.

Lara Stone, Angelo Pennetta, a sumptuous Prada coat... All the right elements for a perfect fall cover. Unfortunately the result leaves much to be desired. The cover pic looks like an out take from an Alasdair McLellan shoot for i-D. The lay out with the text placement is horrible. It looks very amateur. The font used is beyond ugly. It looks like in "The Fashion Issue" cover line the letters 'F' and 'A' are too narrow, as if they were squeezed in on the left because the 'ON' part is way too wide. It's all out of balance. And to call it "The Fashion Issue" is just so ridiculous and misplaced. It might've worked as some tongue in cheek meta joke. But Vogue NL takes itself way too serious for something like that.

I can't say it enough, but I'm happy I canceled my subscription months ago.

I have very high hopes for Harper's Bazaar NL. Anything will be better than Vogue.

It looks like a super cheesy Xmas postcard. So horrible. The tagline is really laughable "Lara Stone, over baby, bitterballen and selfies" LOL LOL. This looks like somethign that Vogue Taiwan would produce

What are you saying lol. Are you kidding ? Vogue Thailand, India and Latinamérica have produced great covers over the years, ok sometimes it's hit or miss but look at British Vogue and tell me it's better than Vogue Thailand lol because it's not. However Vogue Taiwan IS the worst and Vogue Portugal is in love with reprints anyways so...

Vogue Netherlands could do better with a better team of editors and photographers. That's my opinion.
