W August 2017 : Charlize Theron by Alasdair McLellan

WOW at them including a thirteen year old(millie bobby brown) in the "why tv is sexier then ever" list on the cover...disgusting

^I read that as "tv is hot right now", tv shows have great quality, equal to movies.
Not like the stars are sexy

LOL, that exactly what I thought when I saw this post this morning! I don;t think it was supposed to be taken literal, but lets see how the editorial pans out....

i like it, taking a break from the usual classic bombshell Charlize

I know that it's propably because this magazine has one edit per issue but was it necessary to cram so many concepts at once. In one hand you've got that rejected Tim Walker set, in the other you've got pasty british kids playing around on a meisel-esque set and on the other you've got Anna Ewers in a wig. There are some nice pictures but nothing really great, personally I think that Edward just doesn't work with Jamie-who is so talented but benefits from a tighter direction. Considering Edward will now be an editor-in-chief its worrying that he isn't capable o trimming this edit down considering there are 3 shots that have serious composition issues and only bring down the overall quality of the edit.

On another note I love a slight blur on analogue photography but the B&W shots seem very awakard to me, especially the Comme one, the contrast is too low and as a result the details of the dress are non-existent.

Absolutely agree with you!! There are easily three different edits in here, and I would have kept them separate purely for a more coherent flow. The three b&w portraits could easily be stretched to a 3 or 4 double page shots. All the brick-walled images together would look stunning, and I actually think these are the strongest. All the girls look amazing, and the shot of Anna peeping past the wall is perfection. Julia Nobis in that Calvin Klein dress could be better, indeed there must have been a different shot which ended up looking more arty and less 'scratching my bum'.
The biggest flaw of this feature is the final editing, which is lacking. Shot 3,4, all the MG b&w shots taken from the ground up and the last one in the projects should be binned. They have no relevance to the story (stories?), imo.

Btw, who are the rest of the people??? They make no sense. I understand that this is Jamie's thing, but this time around it was poorly executed.

108 pages, and 75% of the issue is ads, this magazine seems to be barely there at this point!
