Walter Van Beirendonck F/W 14.15 Paris

what can you say really except…it's walter. i like those pieces with the bondage straps…in fact all those stripey blazers are lovely as well as as those big shroud-like cardigans. i'm curious to see what the concept for the collection was given the headpieces and the use of helmets.

Thanks marcBana for posting.

Extremely impressive. Strong graphics, beautiful color-palette, distinctive, masculine cuts that are wearable, and thoughtful styling with a sense of humor and joy-- and simple but direct reference that's also a social political statement : I see Native influences-- from the Amazonians, the North American, to the Aboriginal Australian tribes in the design without being literal (with a call for a stern stand of unity and solidarity with the [military-esque] helmets?)

Such a pleasure to see him evolve in such a sophisticated, thoughtful and refined direction, but always remain who his playful self, even after all these years.

Walter has always been a gimmick, but He always manages to be on the good side of that fine like between the tacky and the avant-garde. With the exception of the tights (which are really awful) I really like this collection.

I really enjoyed the white shirts at the end with the all the ruffle trims or appliqués.
