thanks for the tip thepeppers..

is the location in arlington accessible from the metro? i neeeed to go shopping and i was planning on driving out to tysons to go to cusp or walking up to georgetown but it's snowing and so i didn't want to get stuck in the snow..

Yes, the Arlington store is metro accessible. You take the yellow line to Pentagon City. I hope this helps.

^ elschic - blue line also goes there. when u exit the metro, take a left and walk straight thru the ground floor of the mall, exit by a beauty salon, thru the parking lot, and u will come back above ground to the Post Pentagon Row area. walk thru the courtyard (with starbucks, ann taylor loft, etc.) and take a right - its on south joyce st.

My SA at Neiman Marcus in Tyson's Galleria told me a while ago they would be reducing sale items another 20% on the 254h.

^ Perhaps b/c it sold better at Pentagon City than at Chinatown? That happens, and that's why I hit up the sh*tty Saks to find good stuff for cheaper (i.e. My Ferragamos I got were cheaper at the Saks in Chevy Chase than at the Saks in NYC and so was my Dolce suit)

Seriously. I was at Saks in Chevy Chase and bought a bunch of shoes for ridiculously cheap this weekend - two pairs of Dolce et Gabbanas marked down to about $135 and $180 each  . I know they wouldn't have lasted in NYC.

Thanks for the tip! There's something I've been eyeing, but wouldn't wear much. I may pick it up at that price.:flower:

^ of course! thanks to shedonnia for the confirmation as well. i may just have to swing by on wednesday and see what's left.

shedonnia - did u see anything good at the Tysons location? i usually go to the chevy chase one (because i hate driving...i know, i should really get over it) but was wondering if i should also venture out to VA. as we were just talking about, i feel like chevy chase is the "less glamorous/young" location and therefore likely to have more stuff leftover. could be wrong.

You are kidding right? I have been to Saks several times in the past few weeks and have yet to see the prices you mentioned. Was there a recent markdown?

There were lots of jeans and juicy couture on sale. The sale items are pretty much the same as what you will find at the Chevy Chase store.

Actually, I think it starts on Friday, January 26. You may want to double check.

Not kidding, the prices were ridiculous. They had an extra 25% off, which ended yesterday. The shoes retailed for 450 and 595. Also one pair was a recent return so I was lucky enough to get my size.

I didn't see much in the way of clothes in the Saks in Chevy Chase, although I didn't check out the designer goods upstairs. I'm looking for a dress to wear to a couple of weddings this spring and I just haven't found what I want - anyone see any good dress deals around?

^ YES! Saks had awesome deals re: bags too. 30% off original price, then additional 40% (as per second cut) and then additional 25% (as per final cut sale). hope i can find something at NM too...

salome - am blanking out on dress deals but will keep in mind and let u know if i think of something!

^^^
Thanks!! I'm also looking for a nice clutch, but didn't see too much left at the sales that would work for me. I need something black with silver hardware - lots of stuff has gold hardware or is too over the top for me.

Did you get any bags on sale?

i got a lanvin at the second cut (see lanvin thread :)) - and now im on the hunt for another one...i know, crazy, but thats the only way i can afford these kinds of bags, so im totally on the hunt!!! :)

^ i got a lanvin kentucky at the second cut (see lanvin thread in Handbag board :)) and was super thrilled! im being greedy and looking for another lanvin because i am totally obsessed and also, this is the only way i can afford bags like them... so im out on the hunt but since the winter sales are winding down i may have to wait til the june/july sales.

^^^
I love that Lanvin bag! I was surprised to see so many Lanvin bags left at the sale - I love them, I think they're super classy and you can wear them more than one season. I know what you mean about the sales, I definitely try to balance things out by looking for good deals.

Btw. does anyone in DC know a good place to get zipsoles, or rubber soles added to shoes? I'm in the district so anywhere in DC is good, or a close metro ride outside.

NM Last Call Pre-Sale

just heard that the Neiman Marcus at Mazza Gallerie is having a pre-sale today and tomorrow for the last call sale coming up this weekend!

Igotgoodjeans, there is a whole ton of Lanvin on sale at Barneys.
