Washington, DC Shopping

^ Madison Avenue, they had quite a few different styles on sale...A top handle w/ kisslock pocket in silver and fuschia satin was one of the styles off the top of my head.

Denim Bar overwhelmed me when I went in. I could barely tell where the men's jeans were over the women's and then I had a hard time locating sizes.

I grew frustrated and just left. The SAs were not very helpful either. It's kind of a big old mess in there (the Pentagon Row location)

just heard that the Neiman Marcus at Mazza Gallerie is having a pre-sale today and tomorrow for the last call sale coming up this weekend!

I went to the pre-sale at Neiman Marcus Mazza Galleria earlier today and was very disappointed. There was not much to choose from. They received lots "old stuff" from other stores. It was horrible. However, I did pickup a nice little Diane Von Furstenberg dress (regularly 345 for 120, not bad), but I really had to search for it. The SA said they are still receiving merchandise from other stores, so we will see. She also said I will not be able to pickup my dress until next week and the pre-sale will continue until next Tuesday.

^ cool - so pre-sale til next tues and then full on sale? i was also going to tomorrow but if they are putting more stuff out next week i might wait. i wonder if there will be any diff between the merchandise selection. meh - ive already spent too much $ at saks so maybe its good that their selection is mediocre... thanks for the update shedonnia.

I dont know why Im deluding myself that this Neimans might actually have something worth buying...Im expecting tons of Kiton, Juicy and Ballantyne...

I can pop back into Saks Mens Store though (give me a reason to wear my new DH purchases)

OH, Im sooo going to Denim Bar...Maybe Georgetown.

ew juicy "couture."

i wish the saks womens store was right next door too - dont really wanna walk all the way up in this weather (yeah yeah im lazy - also its kinda dark up there).

checked out the nm bag sales which was basically two small tables of ugliest bags ever... i didnt bother to check clothes so i cant speak to that but it was too damn cold tonight for me to trek out there only to find nothing. oh well. better luck to y'all.

Hey...

igotgoodjeans...Were you that chick w/ the Lanvin bag at the Saks menstore who got complimented by an incredibly fabulous immaculately coiffed gay guy? If so...Im that gay guy.

what? another chick had my lanvin??! j/k. sorry wasn't me. i left pretty quickly after not seeing anything at NM (prob around 8pm). also, u didnt mention that the chick compliemented your fab hair, which is so rude and def would not be me ha ha. :p

first i miss your D&G and now your coiffure...someday our paths will cross.

You missed today's expenditure too. I went to Neimans, was disappointed per usual, I did see some red burnished Ostrich Gucci loafers, I just wasnt in the mood to drop $500 on a pair of shoes that were a little too big and liability. Popped into thier Hermes, tried on some deeply discounted ready to wear, it was just...Off in a few places. There was definately a Purse Forumer there as she asked about the convention all the Hermes managers go to in Paris to order what thier customers want.

OK, then I went to Saks Men's Store. I hit the sales racks, nothing, picked clean. My SA showed me some Eskandar pants, I orginally cringed at the idea of Eskandar (that sh*t is wannabe Comme) but these pants were AMAZING, also Im a size 0 in Eskandar (brill marketing) so I got two pairs of these gorgeous cashmere drawstring dress pants that are to die for, I love 'em. I also picked up a black suede Armani Collezioni blazer, also to die for...

Productive day.

I know, igotgoodjeans, Im so surprised at there being TWO Lanvin bags in DC...That's surprising.

^ ohhh cashmere AND suede - sound gorgeous - did u post pics in the shop-o-holic thread?

i just saw this on leesburg premium outlet website. i've never been out there so i dont know how their selection is but sounds tempting. but i hate driving so...yeah.

Ooo, I dont want to schlep all the way to Leesburg to go to a Barneys Outlet...BUT it might have some amazing things...Gr...

strolling around old town with my mom today I decided to stop in this little boutique called "an american in paris"

I had been there for 30 seconds, and was looking at this cute jacket, trying to get a better look at the funky buttons, and the owner makes a beeline for me and scolds, in a tone reserved for speaking to 5 year olds, "here we do not touch the garments, if you wish to see a garment, you grab it by the hanger only"...

was she kidding? how can I see a garment correctly if I can't touch it? anyhow, I was with my mom so I controlled myself and walked out the door, had I been alone, she would have heard a piece of my mind.:angry:

such a shame, they have great stuff but I will never be back

^ seriously??! ive gotten that treatment at jean paul gautier in paris (was also 14 at the time so maybe thats why), but wouldn't have expected it in old town. but then now that u mention i think i read somewhere that the owner can be very "strict" about people checking things out - what's the point??! sorry you were treated badly mundo - that's ridiculous.

also - wanted to report back on my excursion to leesburg outlet (coaxed a cousin to drive me out there hehe). sooooo disappointing so diorling don't waste your time. the stores were tiny and selection even tinier - they only carry barneys ny labels for the most part with a few other designer stuff. the bags were hideous and i would've cried if i actually drove myself out there. same situation at the off 5th. no wonder they never answered my inquiries about lanvins b/c they wouldn't know what that is out there.

Mundo!! Did you tell them that you're the best thing that has ever happened to them?

I went to the car show today, along w/ the rest of the DC Metro Area. That counts as shopping, right? My dad was car shopping for himself, I was man shopping...

^ Dear god. There were so many people, dont wear anything you like!! My shoes got stepped on, my coat got touched and my poor bag was fondled brutally. The people at the car shows are SO RUDE, prepare to be bumped to death.

Though, the Jeep thing was tons of fun...I wanted to go again.
