What Are You Reading?

Joyce's Finnegans Wake for the 19th time, I'm starting to question how one can ever lay the book to rest. ""The only demand I make of my reader is that he should devote his whole life to reading my works". is making sense now.

I can't tell you how many times I've read/pondered/reread/questioned/read/scratched my head/reread...that damn Finnegans Wake. I've often wondered how my professors would have reacted had I turned in anything that...um...enigmatic. Maybe I’ll try it for my dissertation :p

Currently I’m reading – for the millionth time - Jeanette Winterson’s Oranges are Not the Only Fruit. Every time I read it, it’s like a spiritual cleansing. Highly recommended if you’re ever in a slump.

Ignorance by Milan Kundera
and plodding through Anna Karenine by Tolstoy....am I missing why this is so good?

No, you are not. Put it down, before it's too late. Are you on page 50486 yet?

Ignorance was actually pretty decent compared to the two novels before.

I really like war and peace so far.. I have a gazillion books to read from the library and they're all due at the same time so I'm goin crazy trying to read them all:wacko:

i'm reading "madame Joy" and english text for school
"1984"-George Orwell
"America"-Jon Stewart and others...
various travel guides
and a body language book
hmmm, i read a lot at once right? that always happens to me...

You mean the one with Reese Witherspoon? I've seen parts of it but didn't bother watching it until the end. I've seen a much older one they made of it though.

I started reading Joyce's Ulysses, though I doubt if I'll ever manage to finish it.

I just bought a book by Marc Levy, the story sounds interesting but I'm still not finished with Vanity fair by William M. Thackeray

Noone blames those who don't finish Ulysses or Finnegan's Wake. Both are mind r*ping.

Is Marc Levy the guy who wrote "If you only knew"? If so what bbok did you buy, b/c I really liked that book and I want to know if he's done anything else. I really liked "Vanity Fair" (much better than the movie-though I enjoyed that too) though I know a lot of of people who didn't I though it was worth the experience of reading it, even though it is rather lengthy.

I haven't even attempted those, but I loved "Dubliners" and "Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man" (his easy stuff!). I'd like to tread "Ulysses" and "Finnegan's Wake" someday, if only to say I did.
