What Are You Reading?

I gave up on Master and Margarita..AGAIN
onto some raunchy Henry Miller

OH, NO, YOU DID NOT!!! That books is absolutely incredible! Are you reading it in Russian?

OF COURSE.....i'm reading it in Russian. Have you ever tried a translation of it? It's AWFUL. I once tried Pushkin in English (it's thos masochistic tendencies)....I almost cried at how they destroyed the poetry

I started reading "A heartbreaking work of staggering genius" but found the beginning too depressing and couldnt get any further. anyone else read it?

:woot: yeahhh, so glad you like "amrita" alliecat ;)
i've read Banana's latest book (Engish version) i'll post title and more soon

*just finished a quite 'simple' but cute book "elegance" by Kathleen Tessaro
on 'harper collins'
and i think FSpotters might like it.

even though its not bad written, dont expect high literature, its more on a light, entertaining mood.

*started the not-so-great-yet crime story "Soul Circus" by George Pelecanos.
i usually like his work (i've read most of his books) but this seems to be lacking something.
anyway, if it gets any better i'll let you know :P

I just finished The Da Vinci Code. I really enjoyed... great mix of murder, mystery and myth (?) . ;)

Igni....a lot of the "myth" in the Da Vinci Code isn't such a myth after all...
I read the book...hated how it was written, but his research was quite good and he made a lot of good points. An informative book.

I'm reading Diagnostic of Karma by Lazarev (in Russian)

Almost done with Grey is the Colour of Hope and just started The Devil Wears Prada.

Actually, even Brown admitted that the Priory of Scion was a myth and a legend and no one really knows for sure if they really exists.

I am current on two books. The Poisonwood Bible and rereading Sophie's World

The last post reminded me of a great book I read quite awhile back "Sophie's Choice",I later saw the movie it was one of the best books (and movie) on the effects of the Holocaust ever written.

ditto, Anna Wintour supposedly ..
its hillarious, much fun really, i read it during summer vacations, best read for lazy light mood

enjoy tea :flower:

so what is it about the Da Vinci code, is it worth it guys?
seems lots of you have read this already

First a book, my English class has finished reading Heart of Darkness. I love how this author, Joseph Conrad, puts his words together!

Now a play, A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen.

Finished The Devil Wears Prada today and it was very light and funny. It reminded me of Nanny as a wind-up. I did a bit of googling and found that the author, Lauren Weisberger, did in fact work as PA to Anna Wintour. :innocent:
