WOW, you read this in an academic setting already?! That was fast... I personally think it was nothing special, but it's a very fashionable book right now, I guess...

I'm reading Jarhead by Anthony Swafford. Anyone who wants to know how this Gulf War will come out and what really goes on in the minds of the US Marines behind the mucho bullcrap should read it. Excellent book.

not reading it right at this moment but orchid empress its a really good book based on chinas royal history i think most would enjoy the descriptions of the beautiful dresses and buildings and there are some very amusing moments in the book with you'll jus think what on earth! i'l give you a clue it involves eggs!

Really? I'd never heard of it until English class. Guess that says a lot for how much extracurricular reading I do :innocent:

I'm trying to convince my teacher to do a unit on Valley of the Dolls...should make for an interesting English class.

Re-reading Fight Club by Chuck Palanhuik. I thought it was a load of pretentious po-mo crap the first time I read it and put it down half way through, but the film has inspired me to read it again...

Empress Orchid by Anchee Min....it's cowboyboots' book, it's good...should be ready to be given back in a few days :flower:
