What Are You Reading?

lostgirl, I loved Bergdord Blondes.....a really fun read

and Life of Pi is INCREDIBLE!

I'm sort of skimming through a book called "Life Against Death" atm....the psychoanalytical meaning of history....interesting.....I highlight parts that catch me as I go.....but not something I'm in the mood for lately....so if anyone has any suggestions for an enthralling book, I'm open....!!

Right now I'm reading Firebird by Mercedes Lackey. It's a retelling of the 'firebird' legand that takes place in medeval Russia. So far it's really good.

I'm reading the first book of 'the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy' I've only read a few pages and already it's made me laugh :D

I really want to read this as well!

Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow is on the nightstand right now
i've read it a million times and it still never ceases to amaze me

...just started a book called "Taking Our Places: The Buddhist Path to Truly Growing Up".....Norman Fischer....so far so good :)

Life, the Universe and Everything by Douglas Adams, it's fun :D

I read (I finally got money to buy a copy) the Da Vinci Code about a month ago, and I just finished it's prequel Angels & Demons. Now, I'm in a rut as for what to read next. It seems like good Historical Fiction is so hard to come by these days.

I've been going through this embarrassing 'chic lit' phase recently - I do my reading in phases. first it was murder mysteries, then it was phsycological thrillers, then it was canadian mystery authors only, next it was only biographies....well you get the picture.

anyways, Im not really sure as to which book started the explosion, or saturation of this stuff, but some of it is good and some of it....is not. I recently read both The Devil Wears Prada and Bergdorf Blondes. While I enjoyed the first (evil boss stories make me feel better about not having a job at the moment, plus it was really funny - my bf would ask me what I was laughing at often enough) the second one, I thought, was trying way way too hard. I suppose it was at least amusing...but is it even close to a realistic depiction? if so....dear god. thats rather frightening!!

completely unrelated, go here, NOW!:

first actual trailer has been released for the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.......and it looks so good.

I feel like a kid on christmas eve, oh lord! :woot:

I really enjoyed "The Eight". Are you liking it?

I finished it - I really liked it as well. It's not the greatest book ever, but it was certainly an engaging, entertaining novel that was highly fascinating to read. :)
