OH, I know what you mean although looking pretentious is not exclusively a question of wearing expensive clothes...some people look and behave very pretentiously even in the cheapest clothes. i think it is more a matter of attitude, really, but of course that is just how i see it.

you can work it wearing a dior shirt and not look pretentious.

you can look perfectly h-o-t like that one time you wore your j'adore dior shirt. i had one that i got at an outlet. for 70 dollars.

i'm just in my non-monogram or minimal monogram phase... i'll slip out of it in 5 years i think.

oh, i know what you mean thanks for your compliments. funny that you got your dior tshirt at such great deal! i bought mine in Milan when inter paid for our trip there to celebrate my 30th bday... i realise that logo is just maybe too kitsch but i really was determined to buy it!

I STILL like it these days though...

but i also adore some other cheaper tops i have. and i am glad you agree it is a matter of attitude and i must admit , the older i get the less i like logos, at least those which are too obvious...

Purex, I am with you. I hate logos, especially monograms. Not all the "high end" stuff are like that though. Now I get my clothes from everywhere and it's fun

I think what I love most about this thread is that everyone's outfits seem so natural on them... you know..nothing looks forced. You all are so inspiring.

It's finally beginning to feel like autumn here...I'm wearing:
- brown w. white flecks thick knitted tights
- denim mini skirt

- brown woven belt (nicked from my dad) worn high up on waist

I don't know why you are not feeling confident, you look great! Somehow managing to look like a secret agent, and very comfy at the same time. B) I like the slouchy boots and tights, and the skirt contrasts nicely.
