I was wondering - I've spent so much time looking for products that would soften my hair (tis very very dry) and have tried loads of things as well, but I still can't moisturize my hair enough. Yet whenever I leave the hair salon, my hair's really soft and nice.

Does anyone know what it is they put into the hair to make it look/feel so good? Or is it all about technique?

Don't know, haven't been to a hairdresser for ages..... Sorry.

I cut my own hair. :flower:

I'd guess it was the product rather than the technique. I always ask my hairdresser what he's doing so I'll know what to get/do if I like it. Honestly, though, the best thing I have done for the health of my hair is stopped washing it every day. Some people are averse to this, but that is the best choice I made! I wash it every three days and use Bumble & Bumble Hair powder in between to absorb any extra oil. I also brush through it once a day with a boar bristle brush to distribute the natural oils down the entire hair shaft. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, curious.

Has anyone had any success with hair vitamins? Maybe I'm lacking essential nutrients that help control the oil amount in hair?

Kimkhuu..do you use professional scissors to cut your hair? I wanted to learn how to trim my own hair at home, but I'm not sure what kind of scissors to get..

Well, for best bets, next time you get your hair cut ask your hairdresser what he or she used on your hair. Then buy the product that he or she used to smooth your hair.

For right now results, try ARTec Kiwi Blow Silk. It's supposed to work WONDERS.

Actually alot of it is in the technique.

They wash your hair EXTRA well at the salon, they shampoo twice and rinse very thoroughly. THey also make sure to put product on your hair when it is only damp not soaking wet as it stops your hair from getting tacky with the product.

If you want a good softener I have on word for you : Kerastase
Use the one for very dry hair (bain satin I think), use the masque too and GOD it is so awesome. THat and phytologie are both really good.

I don't use curling irons anymore I use those heat seatters by conair. Less heat breakage and I can plug in the set roll my hair jump in the shower for 5 mins take the rollers out and my hair is great all day. I also deep condition each week.
