What Should A Menswear Show Look Like? ...discussion

well...there's the question...who is the show for?...is it to entertain fans ?
...or is it for the buyers...?

it's not broadway...it's business...aren't the buyers the most important audience...?
:innocent: ...

maybe they should start doing shows for customers and fans...but charge admission...like a concert...then you could entertain the fans who couldn't afford to buy the clothes...but you could still make some money from them...
it could be a touring show...going from city to city...and anyone could buy a ticket....

how about that for an idea?...:woot:

^^ roll up roll up......Gucci tickets on sale!

well designers do actually do shows for fans and clients from city to city...i know there is a Kors tour at the moment and Ungaro does it too

softgrey,i think the show is for all the strates..and there is expectation that there should be provit, eventual client in every of the groups-fan,clients,tv viewrs

for me the shos are 1.for the epoch ,geist ,geistgeschichte and history of human race and history of fashion
if they wanted to attack the clients why especially the hautes couturier don't go directly in arabie saudite ,Kuweitte Quattar ,and some tycoons wifes...

they could made HC the most esoteric performance, with teasing of 23 chacra -the chakra of selfcentred, the autoeroticism, and self suffiency (if you understand me,if not I will explain slowly, premice by premice

If you want to know what a menswear show SHOULDN'T look like , just take a peek at the John Galliano Homme a/w 05/06 thread !!!

It's an object lesson in bad taste and cynical hype . :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:

Should look like how designers want to. I think the freedom to do shows is not less important than the freedom to design clothes.

There should be room for everybody:-). And after 10 conceptual presentations, a "super freeky" Galliano show could be fun, hehe.

I asked a japanese journalist what shows she'll enjoy the most, she said Galiano at first, then Dior Homme, CdG, Junya ... "Galiano's shows are always dramatic":-)
