What to do with my ten years old graduation collection? How can I potentially come back to fashion?

Hey there.

Ten years ago I graduated from an art school. I didn't specifically study fashion but I did develop every given project into something that was related to that.
My graduation collection consisted of printed scarves and fully printed sweatshirts. The project also included developing my branding etc.
I did sell some of my stuff in the university campus. But I ended up with some leftovers which I've always travelled with.

You may ask about the 10 year period - what happened there? Well, due to money reasons, I had to retrain to something that I did like and enjoyed but not necessarily loved (IT). I just happened to be successful in that alternative discipline.

I am thinking how could I resurrect my activity in fashion.
Creatively, I do enjoy fashion illustration and print design. I am also interested in digital product development but I don't think I am very competitive in the fashion industry CV-wise.

I was wondering if it makes sense to somewhat either show my pieces from the grad prject on IG or maybe send them to some stylists or some other fashion people somehow to see if there would be any interest in those.
Otherise, maybe I could sell them on depop or vinted (I live in the UK).

What would you do with the setup like mine, where you kinda would like to realise your creative desires but yet learn somehow about the business side of things without having any exposure to the industry.
How somebody with experience like mine could try to get into that world?
I do appreciate any advice!

- You should definitely leverage Social Media as it is a powerful tool at your disposal.
- You should leverage Depop/Vinted to get some sales going and test interest. If anything sells, use the profits to reinvest in new projects.
- Follow fashion enthusiasts & influencers to get more ideas & look for collaboration opportunities.
- Reach out to stylists and small magazines. You never know who might be interested in using your pieces for shoots.

Ok. Retraining in IT was smart bc now you have the money to pursue your passions.

However I would do a new collection. 10 years is ancient for fashion.

Thank you very much for the reply! And apologies for coming back to this but I've kinda ignored this topic since there was no response. And poof! It's caught someone's interest so cheers for that.
Vinted - I've had my pieces there for a while - nothing sold. I think the pieces got lost in all the rest plus I am charging a price that's of production price (which is not a China/outsourced price level).

When it comes to smaller magazines - how would you actually connect with them. I wonder if I should just send those or hit them up on SM...which I think they get dozens of requests from other folks!

Thanks!
I also think it did work out pretty well. And now I am moving to another department (Product) so who knows, maybe that will open something up in future - maybe not from the design pov but possibly the industry one?

The new collection - been thinking about it. I do have a concept etc. but it's the new job that I need to focus on now actually. It's somewhat hard to come back and take a risk again. It was so much easier to do it when I was 10 years younger!

Also, wonder if anyone's actually switched industries to the "high fashion industry". Seems to me like if one's never been in there from the early "intern" start, one's doomed!
