Who are the best makers of skinny pants?

Thanks for the contributions guys :flower: Originally I was asking for girls' pants but now I realize how important it is to find nice pants for men. I will make him try some DH pants to see how they look. B) You guys really should upload some pictures with you in dress pants because in my experience, it's easier to find low rise jeans than low rise dress pants......

Actually, IT IS much harder for a guy to find well fitting clothes, especially in the US. Unlike in Europe, in the US guys are meant to be stupid sloppy apes, and the mass market clothes are produced accordingly - bad fit, horrible fabrics and colors are an indispensible part of the socially acceptable masculinity. JFC, sometimes I really hate the country I live in .

well, you are still so nicely dressed :innocent: Being living in America also makes you stand out in crowd. But I agree, the mass market products are quite blah. women's stuff is the same... besides, the sizes are bigger and bigger. You guys will never meet this kind of situation, but I, who is definitely not considered skinny among Asian girls, am not able to buy pants from any mass produced brand

That's my biggest problem. Even most high-end designers don't make stuff that fits me. That's why I only wear a few labels.

I second faust's endorsement of Raf Simons skinny pants, and the Junya Watanabe jeans for men.

Helmut Lang does (er, did ) make some very nice low-waisted cuts. I have a pair of the Low Waist Contour Fit that are one of my favorite pairs of jeans.

But in the end, paullw has it exactly right - the key is finding jeans/pants where the crotch sits properly, and then they can be as high- or low-waisted as you care for them to be.

Unfortunately, faust preaches the truth: this really is tough for men in America, since the high-street standard seems to be a baggy, longer-than-necessary rise that tends to make the whole area between the waist and the top of the thigh poof out a bit. :yuk:

^Thanks Baron.
As part of the experiment, I ordered a pair of Miumiu pants, a pair of Costume National pants, and a pair of Balenciaga pants from Yoox. Let's see how they fit on me...

From what I've seen, Costume National have some nice skinny ones that look good on the runway models...we'll see how that translates to you.

We should start a pool to see which ones you pick - my bet's on the Balenciaga. B)

please post pics of the pants when they arrive caffeine...:flower:
am looking forward to see how they look........

^absolutely. I actually ordered a little more last night...I'm desperate to look for pants. I ordered some balenciaga's pants from the summer clearance area and a pair of stella McCartney. I'll post pictures to compare...maybe even an article. :D

Baron and arpege, sorry but both of you lost...none of the Balenciaga pants worked. However, I have never tried their size 34 pants, so i'm curious to try a pair once I go to the boutique. The major problem is that the waist is too large. It's at least 2-3 inches bigger than it should be on me. The legs are perfect though.
The miumiu pants are the worst...shapeless and the material is cheap. I was surprised.
I posted the costume national pants on Yay or Nay. They are not bad...
The winner is Stella McCartney's pants...I like the details and the extra soft corduroy material...Here are the pictures:

You are really courageous to make this kind of comment!:p As a foreigner, I would never dare to criticize anything about the US in the same way, since most Americans around me here in Midwest will immediately shout at me, "Get your *** out of this great country then!"

However you should be contented since you live in NYC where you still have some many good choices of almost everything, fashion, art, food, people, and LIFE! Just imagine that you lived at a place like.... South Bend of Indiana!:ninja:

I've had my share of "get out" comments. I don't really care for these rednecks, I just pull out of my pants my big... american passport ;)

Caffeine, the pants look great on you.

Thanks Faust.I wish I could wear them from MOnday to Thursday:p

The Stella cords are excellent. I'm surprised too about the Miu Miu. I generally prefer Prada mainline stuff to the Prada Sport and Miu Miu, but still...if there's one thing they know as a company, it's cut and fit. I would have expected them to at least have a nice shape, although in the current climate at Prada the cheap fabric is not as surprising.
