Does this iamamiwhoami project sort of remind anyone else of the song and video of 'What Else Is There?' by Röyksopp Feat. Karin Dreijer Andersson. I'm not suggesting that it has anything to do with Röyksopp or Karin, because I know that the girl in iamamiwhoami is definitely Jonna Lee, but iamamiwhoami seems somewhat influenced by the song and video in my opinion. For example the way Jonna sings the lines "a fortress of your heart" and "and absence of you heart" in 'O' reminds me so much of the way Karin sings the line "I don't know what more to ask for" in 'What Else Is There?' if you take the beat away.
I'm putting it down to the fact that quite a bit of Scandinavian electronic music seems to have developed into sort of a genre of it's own (it's hard to explain but when I hear some sorts of electronic music I just know it's Scandinavian if that makes sense) and iamamiwhoami fits into this genre.
Anyway I'm rambling and not really making any sense but the point I am trying to make is that when I first heard 'O' for some reason I immediately thought it sounded like a cross between the intro to 'If I Had A Heart' by Fever Ray and 'What Else Is There?' by Röyksopp also featuring Karin and when I went and showed it to two people I know the first thing they both said was it sounds just like 'What Else Is There?', so I guess I'm not the only one. Then I went and watched the video again and even that reminded me of all the iamamiwhoami videos.
Does anyone else see some similarities?
i agree with you completely. as soon as i played it i immediately thought of royksopp, the knife and karin. even in the visuals it's very "them"

it's not terrible quality but it is rather disappointing given the all the innovative hype it's generated. only to hear that it's that derivative. one would have thought it might actually be something so original. alas,i don't hear it. it really furthers my feelings that you should never believe the hype because a lot of the time it will be a let down ultimately.
