fashion is NOT art...

just ask ANY FASHION DESIGNER>>>!!!...

it's business...and sometimes it's creative...
but it RARELY even approaches ART...

oy!...

so what makes a good designer?!....
someone who creates great DESIGN....or someone who does great BUSINESS?.....
why do we use clothes to express ourselves then?....what are we expressing, our sense of business?....

i think ive totally missed the point.......

Fashion IS art. Art is anything that humans make to express themselves. As ugly as some collections maybe they are still ways of expressing yourself. Fashion you can say is a way of communication, just because it's not the traditional way of communications like talking or reading doesnt mean it isnt a form at all.

well now that the movies flopped, fashion here I come!

i am sure there is a thread somewhere on fashion as art-yay or nay...
please find it and continue this there so we don't take this completely off-topic...
if you can't find one- please feel free to start one...

i think it might not be bad actually...
i was really pleasantly surprised by his solo album and his videos...

Me too! I must admit, I am a HUGE Justin fan as far as entertainment :P

Interesting timing to hear of this for me...
just this morning I was wondering if he might regret those herocious matching denim outfits he & Britney wore

I think we might be pleasantly surprised as well.
He's obviously grown in his aesthetic and he won't be working alone.
I'm sure his fans will eat it up ^_^

He has grown and changed a lot.

only time will tell on this

Ok so I looked up some websites about this new line and apparently Jstin is getting some help from his friends Trace Ayla and Danny Guez (whoever they are).
The line is called William Rast andt the clothes are just men's and women's jeans and tees.

Here Ive got some of his stuff:
Priced at $189.00

Priced at $233.00

williamrastpolo.jpg
Priced at $81.00

Priced at $48.00

Is it just me or are those clothes just a tad too expensive?

HO-LIE-PIE-CRUSTS.

Those are a indeed a little expensive. I got a pair of jeans like that for 20 dollars at the local mall. Wow.

I think it'll be fan wear....I don't understand why celebs, singers want clothing lines anyway....i don't see Calvin Klein, Donna karen or Christopher Bailey making albums and wanting to act in movies.....what's going on?

lol, i think it will be quite amusing to see a movie where the designer plays a small minor role; for example, in the movie pretty woman, how funny would it be if giorgio armani played a salesperson and be scoffed by richard gere and julia roberts??

Not another sh*tty celeb designer. Even if he knows anything about womenswear, what does he know about the design process? But I agree that at least it's LA.

Doctor Caroline, thanks for your sampling. Those are just terrible for the price especially. Who on earth would buy this stuff?

Meh, I don't care, I'm interested.
