Winsor Pilates

The problem with Winsor Pilates is that while the pace is nice once you actually learn the moves, she doesn't properly explain them. In order to get any benefit from Pilates, you have to do it right, and there's just too much room for error with the Winsor.

Pilates at home

Hi :)

I've started to do Pilates at home with DVD's (Winsor Pilates) since 3 weeks now, everyday ( not sunday) .

I was one of those persons who sport was really a hard time for me and since I started this not only I LOVE IT but I also see results and I am constantly waiting for the next morning to re-start it again...

Do you do Pilates at home also ? How is it working for you ?

(I do at home because there isn't classes in my town, so I have no choice)

Thanks:flower:

I have the Windsor Pilates Advanced Body Slimming. It's 20' and it's great, you do feel the burn. Highly recommended!!!

I have the Pilates book by Siler and numerous video's. I've been doing it for 2 years now- every other day and Pilates has COMPLETELY changed my whole body. It tones you up in just the right places. Of course, I do about 30-60 min of cardio a day depending on my days. After 2 years of Pilates, not only do I have it memorized but I know which exercises do what to whichever muscles so- for example, I like not have a butt so I exclude certain exercises from my Pilates routine.
I swear by Pilates.

great to hear it :flower:

FashionJunkie- I also have the Windsor Pilates Advanced Body Slimming + the abdominal one and I think they are great. I do abdominal 2x a week and the body slimming 5x a week.

Jolie 917 - I also have a step do you think I would have better and faster results if I add 30 minutes of step everyday (well at least 3 times a week- because I don't have for more) ?

Thanks ^_^

yay for the 20 min workout ... my abs are killer after doing it everyday for two months!

Yes, step is cardio.

Shoegirl, you should definately add 30' step to your work out routine. It's great for the butt and for losing fat (overall). I used to hate it but know i love it.

Pilates is great, it totally changes your body. I  it.

If you're just doing Pilates, you are not going to lose weight. Pilates is for toning. Shaping your muscles. That is why I love it. I am not looking to add muscle nor make them any itty bit bigger, just shape them. So with 30-60 min of cardio a day, I burn off calories/continue to lose weight and with Pilates, I tone my body. It's taken me almost 2 years to not only hear this but realize that this is most effective for me.
I suppose that I dont need to that much cardio anymore but it's nice to have that cookie after a salad. Haha

although i go to the gym i got the pilates ring so i can do it home. i haven't tried it yet, though. anyone have this? if so, is it good (to do it yourself) or do you need a trainer for anything pilates?

Well i don't thing you need a trainer everything is quite clear, just pay attention and try to feel the muscles working. When they say to do an exercise with your abs, try to relax your body and feel your abs doing the job, etc. I think that's all...

after I did the stomach thingy for 15 days for 15 minutes a day, my stomach was slim and toned.

can you provide the full name of the dvd? i'm dying for sexy abs...:flower:

Love the Windsor Pilates DVD series. I started doing those to get ready for a pageant I was entering and it got me toned. Those also inspired me to become a Pilates Instructor and that's what I'm doing today!
