Wolford

JetSetGo, i saw your louboutin posts and you totally sold the tights. i'm off to buy some tomorrow. wohoo :p

*just checking... do the bottom of the tights wear out easily with lots of use... i read somewhere that with shoes you should wear like a protective sock over the top... is that true/necessary?

I'm not sure about that. I haven't had problems. I'm sure wearing a sock would prolong the life of them. If I wear boots or something, I may wear socks over, but obviously not with pumps or the like.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment. :flower:
Wolford is pricey, but they are definitely special. :crush:

I am so tempted to get some opaques...but how 'pull resistant' are they? I am the girl who gets runs in her stockings 10 minutes after she puts them on...so I'm kind of scared to outlay $80!

I bought a pair of black tights with a seem on and sat on a broken radio so they got killed...I don't think i'll ever buy expensive tights again :(

I've been searching for the velvet de luxe 66 tights but all the stores I've gone to have only had the 50 version. :yuk:
I've been to all the big department stores here, no luck.. ended up buying a trusted pair from American Apparel instead but I still really want to try Wolford.

I just recently bought a couple pairs of the Zac Posen for Wolford tights from Bloomingdale's NYC.... GREAT purchase! Such fun, comfy tights. but then again I would expect nothing less from my wolfords :)

My other favorites are the Floral Net and the Velvet de Luxe.

ALSO, I saw some colored Matte Opaques in the March issue of ELLE--really awesome colors like blue and fuschia--anyone seen these around/know where to find them??

I honestly prefer Falke tights to Wolford. I have a few Wolfords, but I honestly don't think they're worth the money.

Since I got my black fatal dress.. I'm addicted to it.. it's gorgeous and I can't stop wearing it, I have ordered it in bat as well. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

^^ How do you wear the fatal dress?

I bought my first Wolford tights today :woot: matt opaque 80 in black.. I am wearing them right now and they are so comfortable! Much nicer than any of the tights I've had in the past. Now I really want to try velvet de luxe!

Has anyone seen the red (ribbed?) ones in person? This woman is wearing them on the style.com video about the street style in LA Melrose Ave II (the last woman featured in the video)- go to the "Intersection" section of the videos if you haven't seen it...

StellaMare I apologise I did not see your question before now... there are numerous ways to wear the fatal dress really.. with a round neck jumper over and flats.. with a t-shirt over and sandals for summer... doubled as a skirt.. with just a jacket.
As a dress alone.

I posted one way I wore them this weekend in the 'waywt' thread..also posted it on my blog...
don't know if you noticed.:flower:

^^ I did notice!
Anytime I see pictures of people wearing it, it looks great.
I'm just not creative enough to imagine exactly how it works.. folding the skirt in different ways and all. Too bad I can't try it on in store!
Is the quality worth the price?

Well, it depends...on budget/lifestyle..

you can get a similar look from AA.. and I think I am going to buy a dress from there to wear as an everyday item... the dress is rather high maintenance.. I do justify it by thinking that I'm not into denim really so I can wear this as a dress in multiple ways.. and use it as if they were in a pair of trousers.
But I have noticed a few pills on the side, the quality is not up to the level of the tights.

But, I can't find anything in that fabric on the high street, you know..after all, the AA is only cotton.. I have never been a huge fan of black cotton, I like it to be a mix of some sort as the depth of the black gets stronger then, IMO.

I hope this helps.

Oh, and you must try it on before you buy! my mate tried it on and she absolutely HATED how clingy it was..lol...The Wolford boutique does allow you to try it on.

This thread makes me want more tights..it's an addiction.

hope someone of you (maybe pucci_mama) can help me.
i bought the fatal dress some time ago and i really love it, but i have a hard time wearing it!
it always slides up my hips when i wear it as skirt or dress. i've got it up almost on my waist when it should stay at the middle of my upper tights... any idea how i can avoid this?
