There was a time when i really loved the idea of a designer shoe, an established name like Tod's, Gucci, Prada, Casadei, etc. I almost saw it as a smart thing to buy, like it will last longer, look better than the average high street shoe. I'm not talking about dressy, occassion shoes, I mean shoes you wear to work, pumps, flats, moccasins. I have a pair of Prada, Ferragamo, Casadei, Gucci flats that I wore 3-4 times in the city and the soles peel off  , in fact they start looking like carton. Prada slingbacks that look supercute and cost about 500$ cut my feet thus becoming totally unwearable for longer than 20 min. I don't know, maybe it just me, but it's not like I am jogging or running aroung in the puddles. Seriously, when I buy a pair of ballerinas for 100$ I almost expect them to fall apart after couple of months but if it happens to prada after couple of wears... WTH??? I now kinda think there isn't much difference between designer and high-street footwear after all. What is your experience? Is it worth it?

I bought Kurt Geiger shoes. Worthem a few times and the heel snapped! Does anyone know if it's fixable?

You could probably return them to the store if it wasn't a very long time ago. Or go to the shoe repair, they might be able to replace it with a new one. I am not sure if it's worth with KG though cause it'll probably cost half of the price of the shoe.

Love my old LV and Prada boots with regular maintence I have worn them happily and heavily for 5-6 years! They'll have to be chucked out sooner or later but they were so worth it...

so far, my experience has been that jimmy choos last far longer than christian louboutin. my CLs wore really quickly when i wore them around town for a few nights in nyc.

I'm extremely hard on my shoes from a wear point of view, always polished and kept but I wear my shoes hard. Amongst my collection are two pairs from David's which have not only lasted but with new lifts and an airport spit shine look like I bought them 4 weeks ago not 4 years.

Louis Vuitton. The zipper broke as I was trying them on, $800. It totally killed my lemming, which is good b/c Im much too cool to be in Vuitton. Dior has some sh*tty shoes too.

YSL has great shoes, great quality. Who else? Hmm, Gucci has great quality. Margiela...

My LV platform slingbacks are of excellent quality. They're my "go to" shoes. However, they don't have a zipper! Maybe it's just the zippers that are the problem.

Prada is very hit-or-miss in my experience...

Actually my YSL dadas scuffed really bad, so now the gold leather has an ugly black mark :/

Louboutins and Blahniks? Definetely not for me!

I can't believe that so many girls wear Louboutins and Blahniks.
Both haven't come up with interesting new styles for a while. Only the colours and embellishments change - so everybody is wearing the same shoes. I find that quite unoriginal.
Plus, Blahniks are so cheaply made. I can't believe how messy they put on this thin, wobbly sole and the satin styles are even frayed on the display shoes... I wouldn't say, the Louboutins are badly done quality-wise, but if you want to wreck your feet, go for it. I'll go for Sergio Rossi - best quality, very stylish and you don't even feel you're wearing shoes. For all of this, they are reasonably priced. Just watch them out on www.sergiorossi.com.

I agree with the Sergio Rossi heels - they are of great quality. In my experience, Jimmy Choos are a hit or miss, they are too delicate for my likings
