In alphabetical order:

Alexander McQueen
Balenciaga
Burberry Prorsum
Chloé
Christian Dior
Dolce & Gabbana
Helmut Lang
Jean Paul Gaultier
Jil Sander
Lanvin
Marc Jacobs
Oscar de la Renta
Prada
Proenza Schouler
Ralph Lauren

Very, very fair list, but I have to disagree on Dolce & Gabbana and Prada.....Lacroix and Chanel would have been better choices in my opinion...

I don't really agree with this at all especially Marc Jacobs and Dolce and Gabanna.

I would have picked John Galliano's own collection over Christian Dior & Miu Miu over Prada
I think Moschino deserves to be on the list

Dolce&Gabbana and Marc Jacobs weren't even mediocre, let alone good... but that's just me

I disagree with Chloe, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, and Prada. And I'm really iffy on a few others.

Definitely. :flower:

I third the vote for Galliano over Dior. Disagree with Prada, D&G, Proenza, Gaultier, Helmut Lang (I just didn't like it, not that it was bad) and I'm only halfway happy about Marc Jacobs, the only good stuff were the colored dresses at the end.

Much rather have seen Rochas and Chanel instead of Prada and Dolce. The only choices I actually like are McQueen, Balenciaga, Lanvin and Ralph Lauren.

I counted what people on tFS where liking the most (based on the answers in post #16 through to #43..not exactly scientific..but it gives an idea :flower: ) and the answer looked like this:

The Favorites from Post #16 to #43
not counting honourable mentions

Most mentioned favorite collections:

Lavin (12times)
Yves Saint Laurent (8times)
Marni (7times)

followed by...

Alexander McQueen (6times)
Balenciaga (6times)
Burberry Prorsum (6times)
Dries Van Noten (6times)
Junya Watanabe (6times)

Yves, Marni, Dries and Watanabe isn't mention in that list at all..

certinly not my pics but for a mainstream magazine it's pretty good.

Yeah, even though I don't like all of the choices I'd have to agree, they picked a good variety of designers.

I guess it's fair. But it reads like a rundown of their top advertisers––except for Proenza and a couple others. Ralph Lauren? When was the last time that man had an idea? Christian Dior? Arguably Galliano's worst ever. Marc Jacobs was horrid, as per usual, and I didn't think ss05 was McQueen's strongest showing.

Why did it take W so long to come up with this list? Perhaps they were waiting to see ad figures for January and March before handing out the press.

I would have picked Vuitton over Marc Jacobs, and Miu Miu over Prada, then kicked out Dior and Dolce.

I agree with Miu Miu over Prada, but I really liked Dolce this season, as well as Dior :innocent:

My thoughts exactly.

Those 'Top Collections' lists feature practically the same designers every season, with one or two token 'quirky' collections for effect.

yes...and it's a crime...those were all strong collections...
i also loved moschino this season...

to include the marc jacobs and christian dior collections in this list constitutes blatant agenda pushing...i mean the other collections obviously have their faults but i couldn't attach to anything in either of those two collections: i mean where's marni or alessandro or even narciso or chanel.

Ive seen them in the showroom, those Marc Jacobs dresses are just amazing, the video and the pics really dont do them justice. The crushed ribbon dresses are really quite nice.
