OMG.
I knew sth must be hapenning when Yamamoto moved the show to NY.

3 stripe heel?

Thanks Runner for posting:-)

it's almost as hard to know what you're wearing with Y-3 as it is with John Richmond...hehe...

This is very strange. I guess they've finally given up on the idea that people might actually wear Y-3 for, you know, sports. And I'm not sure I like the development..

Lots of frightening things in here. :( But still, a few nice looks - not surprisingly, I find myself most attracted by the items that are more typically "Yohji":

pretty garish. i like that second look you posted, droogist. i think yohji is very capable of creating a wearable sports line...i mean if stella can do it...he can. when i think of sporty i think of streamlined...cutting out the arbitrary bits. isn't that yohji all the way?

The last outfit is lovely.... But the rest.... ...so unwearable.... and tacky...... :ninja:

:o A very difference Y-3. Not the usual facade.

The colour and prints kinda resembling of Dior.:yuk:

I think Yohji was going for a 'so tacky that it becomes not tacky' look with the garish prints. Except, for me, it's just plain tacky.

This is pretty different from what I expected. I'm not really sold on this one. The only things that caught my eye were the red cropped jacket in post 1 and the red billowy dress.

I've never really liked Y-3 at all, but i'm disappointed. A lot of this is, well, trendy..

thx runner :flower:

  :( oh why did I bother looking at anything else after roland mouret, was on such a fashion high n all!

 Yohji is finally doing Cavalli?
this is the end of Yamamoto as far as i'm concerned

thanks for the topic runner ;)

^Totally agree..but is this really Yohji or a design team? Please someone tell me it's the latter..

I bet Yohji only has very minor input into this collection... word is that he´s in a contract with Adidas, thus he can´t just simply say he´s out of the boat completely... Adidas´ creative director bowed after the S/S 2005 show instead of him, and it has always been a coorperation between the two - Adidas design team (lead by Michael Michalsky) and Yohji´s atelier... the fact that he´s not supervising the collection anymore - apart from some occassional stylings - had been the talk of town during Paris Fashion Week several seasons ago.

looks like john galliano still at designer school. Too in your face, its been done a million times already.

thanks for the information, tricotine, won't do his name any good though:ninja:

thanks for the thread, runner.

No joke. I genuinely believe that some of these pieces are Versace. This isn't hyperbole. That shirt with weird stuff printed on it is Versace, I'm sure. It looks like the product of a fevered mind.
