Yep, she strutted down the catwalk with the best of them, from the late '80s into the late '90s. And I'd heard her career as a model was allegedly a serious problem for her family:

I believe in an interview she quit modeling to study accounting, and she knew that one day modeling would be over, and she wanted some real skills to fall back on. She was Pakistani and German and her father disapproved of her modeling, but I can't see any of today's supermodels competer with her face or body or walk or swagger, she's the best!
