Yelena Yemchuk - Photographer

I've seen some of her work before, but never knew her name. Love it!

thanks for those new pics!!! gosh, i wish she would shoot more editorials! i would love to see her do some stuff with W magazine....i know she's done V several times....

why did it took me so long to stumble upon this thread...

so many wonderful editorials, if not all. i couldnt pick one over the other, they're highly inspiring and just beautiful to look at. she has an obvious appreciation for cold landscapes and yet they hardly feel distant. I've been in love with the Kenzo ads for such a long time. and the editorial in Iceland.

some news: Yelena works a lot this season

one ed in Nippon Vogue oct 2006( UNK models)
ed with Claudia Chiffer in Italian Vogue( this is her 3rd cooperation with vogue italia 1st was work with JP and Anne Marie in august 2004 )
and her first work for another magazine f/w 2006 with Sasha Pivovarova

Peppi, would you by any chance have any better versions of the second last photo? I'd really need it.

she remains a favourite, i'm always amazed by how touching her work is, miles away from the glossy-icy aesthetic of so many contemporary photographers. thanks for the pictures peppi and alien. i especially love the nippon vogue one:heart:

there's definitely something imperfect about these photos that i love...
much warmer than a lot of contemporary photographers as estella said..

i like the variety of contrast in the different editorials and how she uses the level of sharpness to convey a message or elicit emotion

very nice

does anyone have this picture bigger?
